I am considering buying a Mac Pro and get rid of my old PC Desktop. Since all the "serious" apps I use on my PC are also available under Mac, the only thing that I would need Bootcamp for is PC Games. A few things I am wondering: will a Mac Pro be god for Gaming under the windows environment? Are there any compatibility issues? Is a 4-core Machine just as god for this as the (soon to arrive) 8-core one?

If you are serious about pc game, you will already notice that a major issue was and always is "new" graphic driver that imporve the performance/support new game, in window world you might see a new beta driver every mt and new driver set every other, in Mac world you might see Apple come out with a new graphic driver every yr which have nothing to do with latest game issue.
Do not settle for the world in shades of grey

I should think so...

Yeah. Very few games can take advantage of multiple cores yet. Most will use one or two cores, leaving the others free for the operating system.

Good to know. I am saving up for either the 24"-iMac or the Mac Pro; just debating if its worth $2500+ to play games on a tiny 17" LCD or spend roughly the same amount and play on a beautiful 24" screen.
