Hi I just baught a brand new MacBook Pro 15",2.16Ghz, ATI X1600 128MB and I was wondering what was the best way to play games on it. Parallels or Windows XP with BootCamp?

Wich one is the most playable?

Thanks in advance!

BootCamp (all games, requires rebooting into Windows) or Crossover (most popular games, doesn't require rebooting into Windows)

Parallels is not for gaming.

And might I add that with a Pro, you can do quite a bit of gaming native. There ARE Mac games, you know.

Yeap, I only use boot camp to play one or two games...but most of the times, I play games on OS X.

VMWare can do some 3D gaming. DirectX 8.1 max. Parallels cannot do 3D games at all.

wmware and parallels are working on 3d support, but for now, any gaming requires boot camp.

Just like everyone else has said, Boot Camp is the only way to go for games.

Note, however, that you are probably going to run into problems with some games because of Apple's ATI X1600 video driver for Windows XP. I haven't tested bootcamp version 1.2 drivers yet, but everything prior to that was pretty unstable for various graphics-intensive games.

Luckily, there's a workaround for it. If you see your computer giving a lot of Blue Screens of Death during games, freezing, having the screen go black, etc., follow the instructions in this post.
