I am looking for a game like Battlefield 2 Modern Combat (for XBOX360 and PS2) for my Mac. I really like the online playability. Is there anything out there that I should look into?

Your second option, forgive me for not thinking of this the first time, would be to buy Windows and a copy of Battlefield 2 for the PC, then use BootCamp to install and play Battlefield 2. BootCamp creates a partition on your hard drive for Windows installation, and then at computer start up, you can choose between Mac OS X or Windows. You really have 2 operating systems of the same computer, with the option to switch at any moment. As of now you can download BootCamp from the Apple site as a Beta version. Official release will be in the new operating system. With Battlefield 2 for PC, you also have the Special Forces expansion pack if you want it, and the Euro Force and Armored Fury booster packs, which simply add new maps and units. This is all assuming you have an Intel-based Mac though.

I do (see my sig). Thanks. I was hoping to not to spend all that money to get the game and Windows. Does BF 1942 play the same as BF2 Modern Combat? I am hoping that it is the same game just set in a different time period. Thanks for the help.

I couldn't really tell you, because I've never played Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on the Xbox, 360, or PS2, but assuming its like Battlefield 2, then no, its not quite the same. Battlefield 1942 has nothing of a commander type, no squad capabilities, and there are many other things different than #2. But it still has the online mayhem of huge maps and lots of people, if thats just what you're looking for.
I mean, of course its mostly the same, its the first of the series.
As a suggestion, you might want to get Windows and play games that way. You could try out the entire series.
Battlefield 1942
-Secret Weapons of WWII
--The Road To Rome
Battlefield Vietnam
Battlefield 2
-Special Forces
--Armored Fury
--Euro Force
Battlefield 2142
-Northern Strike
All contain the online playability you mention, and Battlefield 2142 brings about Titan maps, which make for really interesting online play. It also created a ranking system, in which you get better weapons and stats as you play. In fact, you don't even have grenades in the game until you play online.
As a major plus, you could play every other PC game you wanted.

Forgot to mention the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company. Pretty sure that'll be on the 360 though.

I was thinking this might be of great interest to you gaming enthusiasts: ( Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2142 Downloads - FileFront.com). Hope it might interest you both.

Today I make the jump to Intel-Speed.
I'll have to get a copy of Windoze to expand my gaming world.
What advantage is there in adding a partitioned disc?
I wasn't even considering Boot Camp, just Parallels.....

Parallels doesn't support 3D, so good thing you're considering BootCamp. Parallels is only meant for using applications. There's word they'll be adding 3D support in the future.
So, the advantage to creating a partitioned Windows OS is everything, for gaming at least.
