I recently beat FEAR which I loved, I have COD2 that I never beat but I got kinda tired of that, I was thinking of picking up quake 4, its only $20, but is the single player mode good? Its going to be hard to top FEAR buy any recommendations? Oh rainbow six vegas was another one I was thinking of.

It's a few years old, but if you haven't played it, pick up Republic Commando.
My all-time favorite FPS.

Quake 4 was decent. Better than Halo, I thought. I'd either try to get PREY, or go old school and play Deus Ex. Best FPS ever.

Deus EX was good but Ghost Recon was best ever. There are still lots of Mac players playing Ghost Recon all the time online via GameRanger. Tournaments and everything...
