I was surpised to see a whole collection of the old Lucas Arts adventure games for sale at my local post office for $10. All PC versions of course.

I'd always wanted to play The Curse of Monkey Island but could never find the mac (or pc) version anywhere.... so i picked it up, got the scummvm emulator going on OSX and voila.

I havent had the time to sit down and play through this game, but it's working, and it does look really awesome.... literally like a 2D cartoon with a beautiful art style, and from what little ive seen, great voice acting.

Just thought id recommend it to you guys, cause im glad these games are finally available for purchase again.

They're re-releasing old games so they don't fall under the Abandonware title; because then people could get the game for free.

Good game, though. Was funny. Kinda like Day of the Tentacle.

MI3 is completely worth it. Much better than MI4.

I've played about three times. One on PC, two under SCUMM.

The games are sold individually for 10-ish. I remember seeing sam and max hit the road, day of the tentacle and this one.

This game is actually on 2 CDs surprisingly, i wonder why they couldnt put it all on a single DVD...overkill fo storage, i know, but that litle extra convenience would have been nice.

Ah. I misunderstood you. I was drooling at the thought of getting a bunch of classic adventures for one low low price.

Still $10 apiece isn't bad. I'll have to look for them.

Thanks.

Yeah that would have been cool... have all the adventure games on a single DVD for $50 or something....

I remember at one point, LucasArts had their aadventure games and rebel assault games organized into a couple of volumes that they sold for a very reasonable price(at that time). problem was i already had a few games from each set so i didnt bother with it...

here's a link to the 'mac' Lucasarts collection....

Your best bet is to acquire the PC versions and just use SCUMM VM.

I found all the Space Quest games for $9.99 at EBGames recently. Some nostalgia gaming sometime.

Monkey Island 3 was my favorite out of all of them.
