A friend of mine and I have been trying to play call of duty 2 (windows xp, bootcamp) all afternoon, I already have the game installed on my MacBook Pro and it runs soo great, of course we can't compare...

anyway when we installed it and we opened it an error came up saying : "Directx had an unrecovable error", something like that related to directx... i've read about guys who have played this game perfectly fine.. so what's the problem?

BIG HELP HERE!

Tried updating to the latest drivers (ie, latest Bootcamp version)? Tried updating your DirectX installation? It requires 9.0c, are you sure that you have that version installed?

Your friend can't play Call of Duty 2 because his Macbook only has a GMA950 graphics chip:

Aspyr doesn't list it as a supported graphics card...

"Supported Video cards:
NVIDIA GeForce 5200, 6600, 6800, 7800
ATI Radeon 9600, 9650, 9700, 9800, X600, X800, X850, X1600"

However, they have a demo for the Mac version. You could give it a try.

The Mac version works decently well on a MacBook, but (as mentioned above) will not run via Boot Camp. Try out the demo to see if the performance is high enough for you.
