I am trying to find the culprit who messes up my OS - it messes up the ability of my iMac G5 isight to read DVDs.

Has anybody ever heard of Nanosaur causing trouble? (I just remember that when I tried to download the upgrade, the screen resolution and screen ratio was off, and the image got unsharp, so I went back to the installed version).

I doubt Nanosaur is at fault. What you're describing Nanosaur doing is just setting the screen resolution wrong, which is a common mistake and not really harmful.

Thanks. Was just an idea. I'm currently thinking that the RAM (not the one from Crucial, but the original apple RAM, could be causing these troubles).
