This game thats going to be coming out soon looks pretty interesting, and true to the series. Most 3D games featuring the Simpsons had the defacto phong/smooth shading model probably to (unnecessarily) emphasize the fact that it was a 3D game, that imo, completely ruined the game, cause the whole point of having a game based on such familar characters was to (imo) take advantage of the familariaty, which was lost when they looked so different.
This new game uses a cell shading model in a 3D world, so everything just looks like a 2D cartoon, but is in a 3D world (kinada like Zelda The Wind Waker). The voice acting seems great, there's a healthy doze of cookiness as well, which is nice.... and apparently a lot of variety.

It's a game ill be keeping my eye on(the Wii version). what are your expectations of this game ? looking forward to it ?

PS>> Thought i'd mention that i think these console based gaming threads should be in the lounge

I think I read that there is a demo for this on the 360 Marketplace.
I'll download it when I get home and give it a try.

It does look like it may be the best Simpons game - though, the driving game they had a few years ago was kinda fun.

I'm not looking forward to the "2D on 3D" style as that was one thing I truly, truly hated more than the actual story of the Simpson's movie.

I am a huge fan of the Simpsons, and Cell Shaded games. I couldn't put Windwaker down until I beat it. I haven't tried Hit and Run but I heard good things about it. I read that the release date would be 10/30/07, not sure if it's set in stone or not.

Hit and Run was fun, I have that for the Cube. I'll give the new one a shot.

Played the downloaded X360 demo and it looks and sounds real good. I couldn't get very far in wiping out Lard Lad - either there's a bug or I'm totally missing something.

I haven't bought a game for the 360 since...heck, a year or more. I will be buying the Simpsons, though (along with Katamari!).
