I'm looking for something to play on my powerbook 1.67, 1.5gb - I loved half life, call of duty, and c&c on the PC, but since I switched have not got back into gaming. I want something with a single player, but the option to play online, and no subscriptions.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Well, it's an old machine, so it'll have to some older games. Warcraft III is nice. There are also Call of Duties and C&Cs for Mac of course, if you haven't played them all. Rise of Nations is a good one, and there are some of Age of Empires if you like RTS. Homeworld 2, maybe.

You have a lot of options. Check the Apple Store, see what you want and if you can play it, then get it from somewhere else, cheaper. You'd be surprised what you can play with what you have.

Thanks. Old? Well, it's just under two years old, which is getting on a little, but not old... Has anyone played Neverwinter Nights on a similar machine? I liked Baldur's gate.

Neverwinter Nights will play with no problem. I'd even check to see if it can play Neverwinter Nights 2. But that might be pushing it.

You didn't mention RPGs... Yes, NWN will play, and the expansions as well. Knights of the old Republic is also recommended.
AFAIK, there is no Mac version of NWN2 yet.

No, the Half-Life port was canceled very late in the process.

But it's in the making.
Nope. Due to it's use of the DirectX API, NWN2 will not be ported.
