I finished the demo which was short...and honestly, I didnt enjoy it all that much. I think Farcry which is pretty old was more fun in terms of gameplay. Maybe when the full game comes out I'll think differently.

So what do you guys think of the Crysis demo?

Crysis ate my video card.

Now if only the 8800GTs were in stock anywhere for MSRP...

I just ordered an EVGA 8800GT Superclock 512MB for $259 up here in Canada...but I know the store owner real well so I think he ordered it close to his cost price.

Anyway I think the EVGA hast he best warranty when compared to most other brands.

I should have my hands on it on tuesday evening so I'll give Crysis another shot. It was definitly putting the hurt on my 7950GT which is not really dirt slow either.

Just tried the demo out on my MBP and not too impressed. Good game but doesn't come close to Call of Duty 4.

I loved Far Cry and am itching to try Crysis, but I made the tactical mistake of trying Team Fortress 2 and there is no escape- damn it's good

Is there a feel of free-roaming in the Crysis demo? The non-linearity of the outside maps is what I liked best about Far Cry.

Crysis is just another update of Far Cry with the story of Predator. I like how much free roaming there is but it does get farcical. I'm running out of bullets and killing whole armies by throwing oil drums on their heads.

You need serious hardware too even for medium settings which I don't quite understand because Call of Duty 4 and BioShock have better graphics and runs faster on the same hardware. Crytek have got to learn to optimise code.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to doubt Call of Duty 4 and BioShock have better graphics than Crysis.

Don't have an 8800 because I was cheap, so I've only got an 8600GTS, which should be good enough. Ordered Crysis and (because you need it to fully appreciate Crysis) Vista last night. I was busy with work, otherwise I would have gotten it earlier. After Crysis, and now that I have Vista, I'm going to pick up and finally play Halo 2

Crysis only does plants better and that is only on very high end hardware. Call of Duty 4 is wickedly optimised for mid and high end hardware and looks damn good on machines that struggle with Crysis for no apparent reason. I can't say I'm very fond of Crysis' aiming either. It isn't as bad as Kane and Lynch though. Canìt aim for **** with the X Box 360 controller in that game.

Can't aim worth **** on any game using a 360 controller, at least I can't.

Don't get me wrong, Call of Duty 4 will be great, and I'll definitely get it, but it just doesn't seem like it'll be better than Crysis.

I'm getting Crysis and Vista tomorrow, and Call of Duty 4 soon after, so I'll find out then.

You'll be blown away by COD4's art direction, characters and shoot outs. The only thing Crysis has better is a large free roaming environment. Crytek admitted this week their engine isn't very optimised and will release an update soon.

You might also like Gears of War on the PC. Better and bigger than the 360 version and really easy to control with the 360 controller.

COD4 and UT3 simply blow any other multiplayer shooter out there at the moment. These two titles are the must haves right now. Don't waste your time with Vista yet. Graphics drivers are simply more mature and faster on XP.

I do love free roaming environments. But characters and plot (and music!!) are way more important to me.

I'll be getting Gears of War as well, but still won't be using the 360 controller. Mouse and keyboard all the way!

And I will get UT 3. I haven't gotten any others because I don't have sufficient internet to play online, but I hear UT 3 has a single player campaign!

Its too late for Vista. Its on its way. Oh well, I'll live with it I'm sure.

No way man you have to play Gears of War with the controller. The vibration is good. It is the beef.

UT3 has a single player story but it is plain boring. It is like a training video for tournament playing. I tell you though....playing against the bots is much harder than ever. On Average skill level the bots are tough. I could just about capture one flag yesterday on average level. On UT2004 it was easy. The CPU power we have now is making these bots too intelligent. They will Kasparov us to pieces soon.

Well if the campaign sucks, I'll probably hold off on UT 3 until we can get some sort of wired high speed out here, which will probably take a decade or so...

Back to Crysis. I did get it (and Vista) yesterday, yay! But... Yes, there's a but. My motherboard seems to have lost all contact with any of its IDE cables, so my CD and DVD drives do not work, thus keeping me from installing Vista, thus keeping me from playing Crysis. At least my hard drive is still a SATA connection, so I've got a demo or two I can play. They're completely replacing my motherboard at least, but it'll probably take about two weeks. I have another computer I could install it on, and I did, but its running XP, so no DX10, and lets just say, its not up to par with the game very much.

Started playing it on that computer, but then the wireless keyboard from that computer gave out. One thing after another...
