Bungie.net : Inside Bungie : News

According to the Bungie website the melee fix/update will go live late tonight (wednesday feb 20) so it looks as if tomorrows game with be a great test of the new melee.

Sweet. I'm anxious to see if my melee'ing gets any better. I'm not sure if its a bug, my network or that I just plain suck, but I'm having a rough time with melee. I'm gonna go ahead and put my money on "I suck" just to be safe though.

Here are some more pics from Monday's meet up.

It seems whenever Dakar and I face off, we always try to stick each other with plasma grenades. 92% of the time it ends in a draw.




The other 2% he cheats.



So let me get this straight. The grenade stops in mid-air, turns 90° and hits me in the right shoulder... that my friend is one magic grenade.

This next picture is kind of hard to make out. In the front, that's Dakar cloaked with a shot gun. In the back is Crbside in red & Kevin in white. Oh, and that's me in the bottom left corner waving to the camera.



Here's a dead me flying off the man cannon like Peter Pan. Dakar is pre-occupied with killing Crbside that he doesn't see Kevin flying in the background with guns a blazing.



And finally... Sek pleads with the Papprazzi to leave him and his life partner (GamblortheGreat) alone as they try to spend some private time together.

I just did the update, but sadly it does not seem to have addressed the melee issue.

I'm guessing the reduced latency window will hurt me -- I'm not on the best connection. Up to a month ago, I think this would have given me a bunch of double-kills in my favor -- now, probably the opposite.

I don't know about you, but as far as I can tell, this isn't personal. Something about our styles/encounters seems to promote this.

I've been working with a boomerang hybrid for all my grenades.

Also finally got my Overkill achievement last night as well. Ended up getting it on a Crazy King match, which helped me since everyone bunches up together on that game type, easily allowing me to place a couple of rockets up 4 people's asses in a row.

You know, I was feeling good about myself last night, as I managed to get myself up to 28 while going 10-3 on the night. Then, while checking the friend's list while waiting on Matchmaking, I noticed that ::maroma:: had gotten Major. I then remembered that he had been just shy when he left.

And I knew, just knew, that he'd post here today, and again, steal the thunder of my own achievement.

Well, I hope it was worth it, asshole, as you'll be getting booted anytime you join our games tomorrow night.
