Dude, you did an excellent job, even if it was Social. And didn't you win us the last Rocket Race last night driving?

Yep, Sandtrap is a lot easier to navigate than Valhalla, I always end up fish-tailing in the goose on Valhalla.

Also, you were RL'ing magnificently.

Which was out of the ordinary for me.

I'm still pissed I blew that Valhalla game where you were driving, but to the other teams credit, they took a calculated shot at where they thought we'd be, where I was waiting to see where they were before I emptied out my RL.

Hells yeah, I'm up for it. I love Rocket Race. I've just learned not to commit myself to anything until I'm sure I'm actually free when it's happening.

It's a shame more people don't play Rocket Race on Xbox Live. It seems like half the people in any match have no idea what on earth they're doing.

So are Chuckit and I teammates? If not, I can team up with my brother. I told him how awesome the last meet-up was and he really wants to participate in the next outing.

Odd fetish, but to each his own I suppose.

Looks like decog is on board with being my wingman. But have we decided on a day/time yet? During the week would be best for us, but I'm open to the weekend. That would mean I'd need a backup since decog is usually unable to play on the weekends.

Or we could have you and your brother as a team and ::maroma:: and chuckit as the other.

I love how this went from not enough people to too many in a morning.

Think about it...

I likened the difficulty of teaming everyone up to herding cats, which is a cliché for something difficult or impossible.

The important thing is this thread wouldn't be half the fun it is if it weren't for all the OT chatter. Granted, it might be all the worthless banter between sek and I that might turn some away.

I think what makes this thread is the talk/banter/trash talk/bull****/pictures. The chatter between you and sek is what makes this thread hilarious.

Oh, it should be mentioned that sek found out last night that I tend to talk a decent amount of trash in Rocket Race of all places. Particularly in game, as we pass tumbling teams and mongooses being righted.

There was one RR match last night where Dakar landed on 4 wheels almost all the time, no matter what number of outrageous flips we did.

I still think that's a Rocket Stunts setting, not that I've ever seen something to lead me to believe that can be done.

I can't figure out what the difference between Rocket Race and Rocket Stunts game type is otherwise, unless its merely there as an added clue as to what type of track you'll be racing.

Well, that depends on how much time you guys would like to spend preparing. I'm good for our usual Thursday (moved to a later time to accommodate chuckit), but if not we can schedule it for early or even late next week. (or, since it's two parts, early and late next week)

Pic of the Day

Not one of my proudest performances in a warthog, but the tail did end up splattering the guy, so it kinda balances out.

As the new maps slowly approach, I've been trying to read as much info as I can on them. Latest info I got is the Heroic Map pack will be released for free before the Legendary, meaning we have a month or so to play with them before the new maps come out. I also think that since the nature of the announcement will cause sales to abruptly plummet, we won't get more than a week's heads-up on when they do become free. Legendary is set for a Spring release. I thought I might pose a few guesses, for the hell of it.

Heroic: Somewhere between March 15- April 15
Legendary: Late April to Mid-May

They revealed Ghost Town just two weeks ago, and even before I saw it, I figured it'd be the least interesting map. Another map Space Camp, sounds like it'll be aesthetically my style (as long as it doesn't replicate bungie's penchant for burnt-out locales, while the other, Cottonball sounds like it's right up my alley:
I’ll talk about the biggest one first. And it’s HUGE. For the purposes of this, we’ll codename it Cottonball. I guess a game of Big Team Snipers would be possible, but anything else would be comical without vehicles. This is very much a large scale objective game map – designed first and foremost with CTF and Assault in mind. The map is almost, but not-quite-perfectly symmetrical. Some natural geology prevents each base from being a simple mirror image of the other. I say natural, but the map is set on a Halo, so, natural’s not exactly correct.

The map leads to the kind of long, drawn out megabattles that hearken back to the days of the original Halo and the crucial to and fro of an epic LAN party. Its inclusion of a surprising vehicle or two may make it even more interesting than it already sounds.

I’ve played this a lot (although less, by necessity than the other two) and I have found a couple of very compelling and addictive rhythms. The map is large enough so that even when a team makes off with your flag, there’s still a lot of ground you can use to catch up. The other is that each side has some wonderful shortcuts – natural and mechanical – that may not make great flag escape routes, but might let a mobile pursuer cut off escapees.
---

I also had a really, really random game idea. We're getting closer to holding our Rocket Race GP. Foundry, one of the Heroic maps, has a variant involving goals and a giant soccerball named Grifball. I imagine we could hold a League for that too.

Then, I imagined setting up an arena (with decent cover) for a dodgeball like game. Each side starts with 5 players. When you die, you are eliminated, however you can return if a player on your team kills an opponent by beatdown (In cases of double-beatdown both players return to the field). I'd also add safezones for both teams so players could return to the field without being camped.

Man, I need other ways to kill time at work.

Of course I had to drive in all the RR games we played last night, some of my more abysmal driving was due to the 6 Sam Whites I downed while bowling (I also did horrendous at that too)

Umm... I'm going to nix decog since he's an unreliable gamer (as far as availability I mean). I'm up for being teamed with Chuckit, or whoever else wants a decent driver, but poor rocketeer as their buddy.
