It won't be long until I'll have to worry about hair in my mouth when he's tea-bagging.
Ah, yes, pushing the limits of good taste since 2005

maroma, sorry to beat dead horse, but I have something rocket race-related waiting for release, but I need a team name from you and chuckit.

Ideas (bad and good):

Team Green Goblins
Team Green Monkeys
Team Green Gnus
Team Green Giants
Team Green Slime

Since you outrank chuckit, I'm appointing you team captain, so make a call so I can get on with it.

Love,
Dakar

Ooohhh yeah... man I can't think of any decent names for a green team...

Would I be flogged if I changed our color to brown? I wouldn't mind being called "The Chocolate Dragons"

If not, how about "The Greenie Meanies"?

Shizzy, I don't know...

The matching helmets add to the effect.

Alright, since the Gold Team is actually Orange, Brown can be Chocolate. So...

Thats how it starts. On complex 'ramas I suggest you save often in HuginOSX, that program likes to go belly-up for no reason.

Depends on what the g/f wants to do, tonight is her night off so I'm hoping sex, sleep and Halo for sek is on the menu.

Probably not, on two counts.

Edit: I doubt she'll stay past 12, maybe then I could get a bracket in.

We should probably get the Alpha and Gamma brackets out of the way in one night.

Again, I might be able to play if everyone comes on around 12.

Well remember, brackets have to be banged out at least an hour apart. Keeps the guys who just banged out a bracket from having momentum over the new guy.

Did someone say medals?

There are three types: Achievements, Awards, and Stars.
A few examples:

Achievement

Award

Stars
...well, you'll just have to wait and see.

Well, I plan on creating a page for myself and my medals. It'd be cool if some other people do and we can brag/rag about who has the most. I would recommend downloading any you'd like to keep to your own server space, though.

Yeah, I wasn't gonna bother you either way. Just as long as you're not breaking up with us.

I have a batch and some extras waiting for the Grand Prix of MacNN. (More on this in a moment)

I swear, if it kills me I'm not playing Halo tonight, though I will take time out to set up the Alpha Bracket if need be.

(Btw, sek, you can delete all that content I had you download. Everything has had a revision since then, and you DLed a few you didn't need for this tourney)

---

Further Rocket Race info:

Top 3 positions will receive something special.
There will be a participation achievement, just like a meet-up.
Looking ahead to Season 2, the top team (or two) will gain automatic entry to the main events if we get more than 4 entries this time around (I suspect if ::maroma:: doesn't win it all he'll be changing to decog as a partner. Perhaps chuckit can round someone up, and maybe Stelios will want to join in when his business trip ends).

In the spirit of RR info pouring from Dakars mind i figured i'd post my second and third attempt to be the 'fatty' we all want to be (i'm not talking about hamburgers and all you can eat buffets but rather Brigadier skills and panorama shots)

From the game where Dakar goes all alone only to almost win both matches...

That could work out quite nicely since my g/f has loads of HW to do tonight.

KB is already on and I'll be on within the hour. Paging ::maroma::

So I'm on with you guys right now, but my mic seems to have died. Can't get it to work. Sorry if I seemed distant. Cursed technology!

Update: In that Sandtrap game we just played, that double betrayal by me was a trip mine set for their Hog. Sorry about that!

Update 2: I suck wang tips tonight, except for a couple of lucky games. Urgh!

If you have an old USB keyboard lying around you can use that.

Some random thoughts from last night

• The tourney is now wide open thanks sek's fall from grace and maroma grabbing at least one first. The door is open for Kevin and I to tie for second.
• These brackets have had the unexpected bonus of initiating a few informal meet-ups (particularly last night's 10 man).
• Apologies for the poor matchmaking last night, but I wasn't in the frame of mind to toss out some well thought out gametypes, nor correctly balance teams.

All the more reason I'm happy we got some informal Rocket Race practice in last night. I had some reservations about the possible lop-sided of it all, but last night gave some faith it'll be pretty competitive. Those damnable trick tracks have a habit of leveling the playing field, literally and figuratively.

Speaking of which, I think my favorite memory from last night had to be on Snowbound Tricks. Coming around a turn, Kevin shows up, takes aim, and then immediately gets assassinated by a Chocolate Dragon that shows up from nowhere. That's called karma, Kevin. You were a prick the entire match.

I believe that was me that assassinated Kevin. I just remember running around trying to find our lost Goose while a bunch of people were tossing rockets in all directions. Not being able to spot it I said fukc it and took out the closest person I could find just to clear the area a bit. Sorry Kevin, I would've done the same to anyone that was in your position.

Those rocket races were super fun. I just wish my mic was working, I felt handicapped a little not being able to talk to Chuckit. But I just got back from buying a new one so I'll be good to go for our next meeting.

Oh and I was looking at film of our last match when Chuckit was rocketman, and you were right Dakar, he was nailing people left and right. He made some hits that were unreal. Good show!

I also must say, I thoroughly enjoy Dakar's Sandtrap map. The more I play it the more I like it. Whenever I play a regular BTB and get Sandtrap it feels gimped and boring compared to Dakar's. I hope we can continue to get enough peeps on at the same time to play that map some more.
