Good grief. Apparently time zones confuse the **** out of me.
That was great fun, though. It was kind of hard sometimes to resist assassinating people in NNGP, but I managed.

I agree, many a time i wanted to beat fatty down with the "rocks" but usually i was too busty looking at the scoreboard.... that would be a direct hit on team purple

DOn't worry about it. I was practically glad KCros dropped.

Yeah, I'll work on posting PST as well on my updates. It'll be like bilingual laws in Canada. That's right chuckit, I'm comparing you to the French.
---
You people really have an assassination fixation. The only time it crossed my mind last night was when we had a Mongoose cluster**** on Snowbound and sek unsuccessfully tried to jack the Gold Member's 'goose.
---
Let it be known the commish already screwed up and forgot to change the setting for the second GP from Rocket Race to Rocket Stunts. This may have cost me too, as the main difference is VIP speed is set back to 100%, which would have aided in my foot races to zones.
---
I think I'll go ahead and assume we'll only be doing 4 more events tonight. That'll leave us with another 3 event night next week, which I think is probably for the best. Those 20 point races are draining.
---
Dex13 - Sorry about last night, but this was a pre-planned event from a while back. We'll let you know when the next real get together is. Oh, and I'm sure we'll have a second NN GP season, if you wish to enter with your partner.

Event Results
The Teams:
Team Blue Barracudas - Mutated and ill-tempered
Team Purple People Eaters - Soylent Green with envy
Team Chocolate Dragons - Got flushed
Team Gold Members - Took the shaft
Race 1

1 Team Blue Barracudas 20 zones and Pole Position (7 + 1)
2 Team Purple People Eaters 17 zones (4)
3 Team Gold Members 16 zones (2)
4 Team Chocolate Dragons 7 zones (1)
Commish's Notes:
The Barracudas were a perfect storm this game: Arguable the best Driver and Rocketeer, coupled with sound strategy and a bit of luck. The first example of the latter came early on in the game when a rush for the zone at the highest point on Sandtrap failed and was coupled with full on dismounting in the mine-field. Somehow, despite an at least 10-second pit stop, the Barracudas survived as the Guardians made what could only be referred to as a lazy attempt at murder. Just as the Barracudas finally exited the field, alive, the zone reappeared, and they scored the easy goal.
Late in the game, the Barracudas were handed what should have been a crippling blow when they were blown into the basement of the main spire. Kevin dismounted and apsolid indecisively drove around the basement before finally exiting and rejoining his team mate. This should have been cost them several points, but somehow the other teams only managed to score 1 point during this unscheduled trek. Shortly thereafter, the Barracudas brought home the win.
Race 2

1 Team Blue Barracudas 20 zones and Pole Position (7 + 1)
2 Team Chocolate Dragons 16 zones (4)
3 Team Purple People Eaters 12 zones (2)
4 Team Gold Members 9 zones (1)
Commish's Notes:
The second most brutal track on the circuit, the Barracudas overcame their fair share of adversity to bring home another win. Most notably, they were sent into the basement twice, but scoring the over-the-bunker floating zone three times in three attempts proved to be the difference maker.
Race 3

1 Team Blue Barracudas 20 zones (7)
2 Team Purple People Eaters 16 zones (4)
3 Team Chocolate Dragons 14 zones and Pole Position (2 + 1)
4 Team Gold Members 10 zones (1)
Commish's Notes:
They say better lucky then good, and boy were the Barracudas lucky this game. Perhaps the most tightly contested event of the night, the Barracudas were seemingly rewarded each time they chose not to chase a zone by having the next appear nearby their position. This culminated down the stretch when they waved the white flag on a Base Zone and were rewarded with the next zone right nearby, then the next nearby in the direction they were already traveling in, the third closest to them again, and a fourth that was barely contested. This four-point run served to catapult the Barracudas from a close second to a commanding lead that essentially decided the game.
Championship Standings after three events
1 Team Blue Barracudas 23 pts (60 zones)
2 Team Purple People Eaters 10 pts (45 zones)
3 Team Chocolate Dragons 8 pts (37 zones)
4 Team Gold Members 4 pts (35 zones)

I'd also like to add that Team Blue experienced the very best Rocket-leading Fatty has to offer. On at least four separate occasions I nailed them from outrageous distances allowing my team, or the other two to score.
No matter, even with a phenomenal showing by yours truly we still got spanked leaving me to wonder....how the hell can we beat these guys if my best ain't good enough?
Also also, that Snowbound race was pure torture. We'd be a fraction of a second late to Blue at EVERY SINGLE ****IN CHECKPOINT!!!
Gah!
Also also also, Chuckit is madman with the rockets. On Sandtrap Speed his accuracy for hitting Team Purple was hovering around 100%.

I must agree, your accuracy with the rockets last night was unmatched there were times i would turn away knowing there was no way you could hit us from your position... and then you did. Also snowbound was insane, there were multiple checkpoint where i would see us heading for a head on collision.

I didn't exactly put in an crappy performance either.

I'd like to know what his hit % on Blue was because I bet it wasn't nearly as good.

So, did you sek wake you up on his way out of bed? No posts the entire day then two within 8 minutes of each other...
I have my worries about tonight. My eyes are burning, my asshole hurts and I won't have time for a nap beforehand. This could get ugl ier.

Yeah, Chuckit is a madman on both driving and rocketing. I'm the dead weight that keeps our team from winning I suspect. I think we found that when Chuckit drives we do better on the scoreboard. But I vow to practice up and come out of nowhere to show you fools how to use the RL like a man. (when that may be, I don't know... but soon.... soon)

Flickr can't host .gif files apparently, so you'll have to use your imagination on these next pics.

Mostly luck, but I did see Blue heading for that ridge, so I made a guess and it payed off.

No luck here, just good timing.

I fired two wild shots before these pics were taken. Luckily a calming "Take your time dude" from Dakar eased my nerves for a beautiful third attempt.

Yeah, I think every team except Blue switched up drivers at some point last night. Ours was by plan (sek navigates Snowbound better, and it left me to make strategic decisions on when to walk it in). Dunno about Gold Team.

Pic taken no more than 10 seconds into the match. As usual Blue Team scurries away unharmed (after scoring first) as the rest of us shot rockets at eachother.

I really thought that was going to set the tone of the game. Oh how wrong I was.

You very uncharacteristically fired off two wild shots in succession. I imagine the tension was mounting as we were down late by that point.

I figured you'd see the pattern of all my posts starting after 2 PM these days.

I think that nap screwed you over. Drink a few beers or something, I know I'm going to need that if we continue to lose by one or two checkpoints.

I didn't think so, but we are two very frustrated Spartans without a problem to pinpoint.

That was more of a dig on Kevin, really.

Drinking isn't going to help my driving any (Killing, yes). I plan on being a little more strategic tonight.

If anything they should just beef up health a little bit to compensate. A headshot would still be lethal, I would think.
That said, it might finally make frags worth throwing.

Halo 2 SWAT had triple body health and Grenades were also standard.
As far as I can tell they are remaking SWAT the exact same way it was in Halo 2...and I love it.

quick take on tonight before i do some work...
Team Satan Purple stepped it up tonight and with two wins things are very interesting going into the last leg
seriously guys, good games tonight
Team Brown, i noticed some awesome shots tonight and i felt like every time we got a destination you were there only a fraction of a second later.
________________________________________________
side note: Dakar & Sek... we need to hook up some SWAT and find a fourth that would want to bring the pain apon the rest of the Halo world... My recommendation is ::maroma:: , his BR skills during the brackets impressed me.

That is the plan kb. Maybe we'll meet in here to set a firm time, but I'm guessing some time in the mid-to-late afternoon tomorrow.
Oh, to all the people who played the last LTK game on Epitaph, why the hell did you keep taking the orange lift? I must have gotten 5 free kills off you fools.

I'm curious to see how the points played out after tonight's NNGP races.
Not to be forgotten were the sweet-ass other games we played. Namely CTF, SWAT, and Team LTK which all turned out to be very evenly matched.
I'll probably sign on for some SWAT when I wake up tomorrow, which will be 1:30-2:00. I'll have to break for stupid stuff, like food and bathroom trips, but I expect to play my fair share of SWAT tomorrow.

Yeah, first thing tomorrow I need to take caps, but since the Photoshop files lie at work, I'll postpone posting the official breakdown until Monday (Oh no!).
I can't wait to get bungie's official swat gametype on my 360 for future meet-ups.

You could always do the addition for yourself.
Lemme save you the work and just say that we need to make sure you don't get first or second in the last three rounds.

God I love SWAT. Got my first Extermination and won 6 out of 8 matches so far.
Paging Bogues, Bogues to the Matchmaking Lobby...
Actually I'm probably going to wait until after dinner to play again, say around 6:30-7.
or maybe hang out with some humans tonight, it's up in the air

Yeah, my SWAT education is brutal. All I can say is I don't know how everyone seems to have the reticule already pointed at head level already. Or how they're killing me within the split-second they see me. (Good reflexes + good connection, I guess)

Sek, i was on my way to gamestop on my way home to trade in my RSV and assassins creed (beat it so long ago) EXTRA 20% back if your buying RSV2 and get RSV2 only to find them sold out for 360.... F***** annoying

That sucks ass, I had RSV:2 in my hands yesterday but I opted for the outrageously freaky and brutal Condemned 2 (i see Adam Betts is playing it too).
I'll probably opt for getting drunk with friends tonight too, which means a game of fast reaction like SWAT might be out of the picture when I get back. I'll see what my state is when I return.

So far I haven't been able to stomach more than a hour and a half at a time.
Very suspenseful, the fist-fighting is down right BRUTAL, the sounds are amazing, the forensic aspect of the game is very interesting* and the guns have very limited ammo so you can't feel secure for more than a few enemies.
*You look at blood-splatters, streaks, bodies and are asked a bunch of questions that actually require thinking about what is the cause of death, did the victim get moved or drag himself around, etc... It's multiple choice, but you have about 6 choices. Plus, you get upgrades for the next level based on how well you completed your objectives in the previous mission.
Very enjoyable, but even for a gore-movie-buff like me my nerves get shot after an hour of play. Certainly not something you play willy-nilly, I actually kinda wish I bought Vegas 2 as well so I have a new game I can play at night with headphones without scaring myself to death.

Sounds like a good time, haha. Actually i really liked the first one, did you ever play it? But i'm pretty excited for Vegas, and i think you might need to pick it up sometime, i'm gonna need a good online partner to breach and clear with

I never did play the original. From what I've read C2 is a very polished version of the original game.
The first one was pretty sick, mostly hand to hand combat but it wasn't my game of choice for late night, no lights it was nerve racking and stressful with surround sound (aka i was scared like a 12yr old girl)

Dude, totally. My g/f was actually the one that convinced me to buy it, we're both big horror fans.
She's like "What's so bad about a scary video game compared to a movie?" The fact that you are actually playing it and getting snuck up on makes it terrifying. You'd be surprised what a great sound designer can do to your nerves.
BTW you only use guns for like 2% of the game so it's mostly fist fights with a huge variety of handheld weapons (mannequin arms, bowling pins, toilet seats, etc...)

Yea dude its pretty amazing actually, movies don't do it for me like that but a good sound and lighting designer can freak me the f*** out truthfully

I'm immune to gore movies at this point, but even Doom 3 wreaked havoc on my nerves.
I was talking to Dakar about it last night and we were reminiscing about playing Doom and Duke Nukem 3d for the first time and being scared as hell.

I thought after Halo 3 came out I'd be set for a while, then GTA IV, COD4, Condemned 2, and RSV: 2 come out.
Dammit!
I hope Dakar doesn't mind us derailing his thread
