ODST the last hurrah for Halo 3

Once the Mythic maps are released this Spring, fans will still be able to look forward to a few more exclusive new maps that will be included in the Halo 3: ODST release later this Fall.

Overall though, we are viewing the ODST campaign and the included multiplayer maps as the final exclamation point in our ongoing efforts to extend the Halo 3 experience.

I imagine they'll continue to support/modify the playlists for the next year, though.

The idea to play out campaign got brought up again last night. I feel semi-confident we can complete the first 5 levels with only 3 folks, but I think we might enjoy the latter 4 more with a Quad.

The only campaign achievements I have left are the ones for meta-data scoring. I've only completed 2 levels (4 & 5) so far.

That only means you've been off the Halo 3 wagon to long.

Also, I was telling Dakar last night how the last several H3 games I played were horrendously mismatched, in my favor. Since I haven't played almost at all since the new ranking system was implemented I get matched against mostly Lieutenants and Captains.

Such as this game where the other team's highest skill was a Captain Grade 2, while our team had everyone's favorite Brigadier and two Colonels.

This game the opposing team had a Lieutenant, and that's it. Even with my wild grenade throwing and spastic BR ability I managed to steamroll through the other team, almost entirely by myself.

That night was grand, and without a single loss.

Good, it's not only me that's found the Halo 3 matching system doesn't seem too good at rank matching. I've seen alot of mismatched teams too. both against my favor and in my favor.

I liked the brutal Halo 2 ranking system. After 4500+ games we only achieved a 29 highest rank on my main account. There was much ranking down too. In a night it was not uncommon to drop from a 25 to a 19.

Eventually, and unfortunately, it led to rampant cheating so as anyone above a 40 was suspicious.

Depends on what we're doing tonight. Campaign or multiplayer?

Campaign:
- Meta data achievements
- Vidmaster Challenge : Annual (There's a great how to video on the true achievement site. It looks fairly easy.)

Multiplayer:
- Splatter spree on a Legendary map
- 2 for 1 with Laser (should be easy in a crazy king match)
- Overkill (another crazy king achievement)
- Mongoose Mowdown

The first two levels I was able to do alone. The later one I'll turn a couple skulls on for when we go through on legendary, and we'll have to hope for the best.

2 for 1 is the hardest achievement (see true Achievements).
Mongoose Mowdown is a lot of luck. I quit a lot of matches trying to do it. High Ground is my recommendation.

WOW.

Now a 50 is suspicious. I mean a perfect 50? Especially when you see a whole team of 50s. They probably boosted each other.
