My friend just got a brand new Penryn MacBook Pro. He's trying to get Starcraft to work on it, but isn't having any luck. It does work on his friends Santa Rosa MacBook Pro, so it's weird.

After he gets past the Options screen, the window just disappears and nothing happens. It doesn't crash, it just disappears.

Anyone else have that problem?

There is no Santa Rosa MacBook Pro; please stop calling the Crestline/Merom MacBook Pro that.
Mac update estimates: MacBook Pro 1Q10 (quad core Nehalem [Clarksfield]); MacBook 1Q10 (Arrandale); MacBook Air 1Q10 (Arrandale LV); Mac Pro/Xserve 1Q10 (6 core Westmere, 64+GB RAM); iMac 3Q10 (quad core everywhere); Mac mini 2010

I am having the same problem. I am also having the same problem with Age of Empires II. I have been in contact with Blizzard and MacSoft and they are both working on the problem. Blizzard asked me for screen shots so I sent them a video of the entire event with my Activity Monitor open. Macsoft said they are waiting for their new MBP to come in so they can look into it. I suspect it is a similar problem.

Blizzard's thread on the SC/D2 issue w/Penryn based MBPs. Glad to know it wasn't just me (me being that friend olePigeon mentioned). Guess they've had some traction with Apple, so we'll see how this goes. I hope they don't stick with the 'workaround' as a permanent solution. Granted, it is an aged game, but...
