Hey now, take it to the general systems thread, where console mocking belongs.
Here we mock people for sucking at GTA.

I do, but I don't have my PS3 connected to my network because when I do, GTA IV freezes and won't load. I guess I should reconnect it and download the patch and see if that helps.
For the record, my PS3 network name is the same as my screen name here. Hit me up with a friend invite if you want.

I beat the last mission today, pretty awesome. No spoilers from me but it was a hard decision followed up by a action packed mission...

The update a week ago fixes it, I had the same problem also.
I got the PS3 version for these reasons even though I also have a 360.
1) I have all the other GTA's which are PS2.
2) I like the fact that it cashes 3 gigs on the PS3 hard drive as pop-up is supposedly better than the XBOX.
3) I want to play online and not have to bone out almost $100 a year for the privilege. With my PS3 I do it for free.
4) My xbox is so loud I rather play it in peace and quite on my PS3 and enjoy the music and not the loud DVD tray.
5) I like Sony more than MS.
6) I don't plan on buying any DLC.
So what major advantage does the 360 version have next to that? 3 frames a second higher? Oooohhh.

Very nice! I didn't have the right font here at work. And I didn't feel like hunting it down. Damn you for your quickness!
Oh and I used the PS3 version as a dig. You know "GTA4 on PS3? NEVERMIND!" Har har!

Good to know. I'll get around to updating it eventually. It's been playing perfectly fine for me with the network turned off so I'm afraid to screw with it. I usually try to finish the SP mode of games before jumping into online anyway.

Almost 100 dollars....umm meaning 50 dollars a year? Because that's how much it costs, you don't need to exaggerate that much to justify your purchase.
BTW, 50 dollars a year is so damn cheap it's laughable when people say they can't afford it.
A 2$ cup of coffee 5 days a week would run you $520 a year.
Xbox Live is $4.16 a month, which is how much you waste on Star wars figurines every second.

I only pay $28/yr, but I still think it's too much. The multiplayer aspect of Live SHOULD be free, since they aren't actually hosting any games and it's all p2p.
Also, just got to the three leaf clover mission. Amazing stuff.

Well you are missing out on the meetups with other MacNN members. The vast majority of them own the xbox version. That alone cancels out all the advantages you listed.
I wouldn't mind if xbox live was free but $50 a year isn't that expensive. I'm sure it's a lot less than your iPhone data plan.

How do you only pay $28 a year?

Buy.com will put the 12+1 cards on sale for $38 sometimes (right now it's $44). Use a new google checkout account and you get $10 off.

Actually an educated responce helps to justify your argument.
I said "Almost $100".
As you know I am canadian where Xbox live is $60 a year plus $8 in tax so $70 isn't that far off from "almost $100" now is it.
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...17&catid=23556
And it has nothing to do with the daily cost or the or your star wars figure currency. To have just played online for the past 3 years it would have cost me $250 which is totally not worth it for the once in a blue moon I play it online.
If you spend all your free time owning peeps online I am sure that $250 is quite the bargain but for that money I rather put it towards my PS3 and do the same for free there.

That's what it's from! kb spent a night repeating this to anyone who killed him on a deathmatch.

Alright, so I got past Three Leaf Clover as well.
I enjoyed the part in the end where I steal a car, Packie gets in my way, i run over him twice, leave him behind, go back for him, barely survive that, and then very non-chalantly escape back to the first island with my inconspicuous police cruiser with the spider-webbed windshield, bullet-hole riddled body, blood splattered exterior, and tireless rear driver-side wheel. Good times.

As soon as I came up from the subway, I called Kiki and had my wanted level cleared. Really helped because I had no health left.
I may be able to hit $500,000 tonight too, which would give me another 55 points.

Kiki is "Lawchick" in the online dating site. I found out that if you want Carmen to heal you you have to be perfectly still.

just realized (for anyone else going for 100%) that you must do all activities with your friends (take Little Jacob drinking, darts, bowling, show, etc... for each friend)

I'll probably wait to go achievement hunting this weekend, as most of what's left is involved and I'm going through the story at a good pace all of a sudden. Still, I'll be very surprised if I actually beat this game (which rules out a few achievements). So, in all honestly, I think 615 puts you permanently ahead of me (There, you have a goal jokell, though beating the game will be all it takes if you're that desperate).
That said, I'm starting to find the missions a little repetitive.
I seem to remember the museum mission being talked up because they basically thought it'd be cool with all the exploding vases. Meh.
What's weird is I did that and Three Leaf Clover on my first try, but I failed the one where you chase the bikers in the subway 3 times in a row because the stupid thing was scripted so you couldn't kill the second biker until you got back to Dukes. lame.

I'm not sure I'll actually hit that high either. Unless I get really bored and actually try to find all those freaking pigeons and stunt jumps. I know I'll never get most of the multiplayer achievements, and the 100% and complete in under 30 hours are probably out for me as well. I'm having too much fun with this game to worry about the harder achievements. I'd rather just get the fun ones and the ones involved with the story.

I think I'll hit 30-35 stunt jumps naturally, so if I beat the game, I may look into trying to complete the rest by guide. I will never do the pigeons. 200? Please. The only way I change my mind is if they're all that's left for me to get 100%.
I also don't see myself going through the game a second time to get the 30 hours achievement.
I may try for a few of the multi achievements, but after doing a few with the crew I think Fly the Co-op is pretty much out of the question.

No guides yet, i still only have 20 stunt jumps completed and 6 pigeons found. I did look up (quick google) to find 2 cars on the 30 cars for stevie, i just couldn't find them for the life of me.

Sounds fair enough. 92% without that stuff though... must be easier to get to higher percentages than I thought.
I don't think I broke 60% yet, though.
Edit: I miss the easier to drive bikes for hunting down pigeons. They also seem to be rarer to find.
I also miss the Pizza Delivery, Ambulance, Firefighter, and regular Taxi missions.

i also miss pizza delivery, haha. I looked up what % you get for stuff and you get 2.5 for pigeons and 2.5 for stunt jumps, 5% for random people and all there missions (i figure i've done a few of these thats why im at 92%, but according to that i'm right on track)

Oh yeah, the selection of bikes sucks. They made like 4 chopper types, but somehow only 2 crotch rockets, which are way more useful. I miss my FCR-900, and to a lesser degree, the BF-400.
Edit: Damn, I just realized the rampages are missing from this game!
Not too awful surprising -- it looks like Rockstar took some steps to avoid more obvious controversy. Notably absent (to me) is a multiplayer mode where the goal is create mayhem, be it by killing civilians, outlasting police, or destroying vehicles. Sure, you can do all that in Free Mode, but it doesn't keep a score, which is key.
Well, here's to hoping for something like that in the DLC.
What other modes have I forgotten?

On the first day my friend and I got a kick out of picking up hookers and then speeding down a hill towards a huge jump only to jump out last second and see her fly 500 feet in the car and land in a pool. The cool thing was she actually got out of the car, swam to the edge and pulled herself and back to the streets!

I've been taunting the fat hookers by pulling up, honking the horn, then driving away. I believe they told me to go back to f'ing my mother.

Caught in the crossfire!
I give you the edge, though, as nothing on my list is particularly difficult or lucky, as opposed to that 5 rolls one I need to attempt.
