Hey I finally pulled the trigger and got me a PS3. I was going to wait for the MGS special edition but seeing the date on amazon was June 30 for the console, I opted to get the 40gig model.

Anyways, any game recommendations, or sites or items that will help.

I picked up Resistance: Fall of man. The game is pretty good so far, but its taking me time to get used to the controller over using the mouse in one hand and the keyboard in the other.

If you enjoy platformers you might think about Ratchet and Clank. I'm playing through that and it's fun.
GTA4 is out now which is a great game.

I'm looking at GTA4, not quite sure that's a game I'd want. I'm reading up on it now. I've read good reviews of Ratchet and Clank.

I really doubt that's the type of game you want.

GTA4 or Clank?

Clank does look a bit childish.

GTA4. Clank's a platformer, they all kinda look that way.

Umm... Other than GTA IV?

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune? Don't know about that one, I've just seen a lot of commercials, so it seemed to be big. And I found the soundtrack on iTunes; definitely pretty sweet.

I picked up the Clank game and I'm enjoying that more then the fall of men at the moment. Visually very stunning and smooth game play

I loved all the Ratchet & Clank games I played on the PS2. The unique weapons were great to play with, and it has great replay factor. The versions I played mixed in a subtle RPG factor that I really enjoyed too. GREAT game, wish there was something like it for XBOX360 for when Live is down. GTA4 Multiplayer FTW, otherwise.

I'm enjoying COD 3 right now... its helping me get the hang of the gamepad vs. mouse for FPS.

I like Burnout Paradise too ... and motorstorm ... love sixaxis steering (and motorcycle wheelies).

I want to get Resistance. Anyone using a Frag x controller for FPS?

Make Heavenly Sword a rental only. It's too short to warrant your $60.

Agreed, it is very short, I regret purchasing the game. Uncharted is a highly polished game and I recommend checking it out. GTA IV is probably the best game I have ever played but it might not be for everyone. (I have it for the 360) Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a great taster of things to come with the full release and is reasonably priced at $40. I also own Ratchet and Clank which is a good amount of fun but for some reason I got tired of it rather quickly. There are other great EA games like Tiger Woods '08, FIFA, Need for Speed Pro Street, etc. but I own them on the 360 since they were initially created on that platform then ported over but still great fun nonetheless.

Also, make sure to check out the PSN Store, there are some great games on there too like Super Stardust HD.

I would check out Call of Duty 4. So far, I played more CoD4 on my PS3 then I did with GTA IV and GT 5 combined

Haha, that it is. I'm still completely bewildered to how someone could play it with a thumbstick controller though. At least, when I'm playing it (PC, keyboard/mouse) I'm moving and hopping so much that I just think that incredibly hard with a 360/PS3 controller. But... you know, I've never really used one much, and when I try using it on Halo and such, I completely suck.

You can use a keyboard/mouse on the PS3 for Unreal Tournament 3.
