I'm d/l a movie and I noticed that the speeds are rather slow, it doesn't appear to be my network, and when using the web browser on the ps3 and going to speedtest.net, the test results are inline with my Mac.
Here's my setup, the PS3 is connected to an airport extreme via a cat-5 cable and that airport extreme base station is connected to my main network wirelessly. The transmission speed between my airport extreme and time capsule is 140 mbs. I'm experiencing download speeds is just under 18 megabytes per minute.
I'm not sure of my math so that could be part of the problem. Rounding up for math ease, it seems 18 megabytes is 144 megabits but that's 144 megabits per minute not seconds and I already confirmed I have the two wireless routers connected at 140mbs. converting the 144 megabits per minute to seconds produces an absurdly low number that doesn't make sense but again my math could be screwy
Long story short, is d/l 18Meg a minute (wirelessly) about right or is something amiss.
Second question, when I select a game or a movie, I'm presented with the option of downloading it in the background, could that be throttling the bandwidth as well?
