Since i switched to mac a few years back, i've always longed to play the PC game Sims 2 again. The recently discovered Parallels Desktop application which allows me to run Windows on my Mac, seemed to be the answer to my prayer. So i went ahead to install it. But when i tried to install Sims 2 on my mac with parallels desktop, it installed fine, but it keeps crashing when i load it - with the message "The application has crashed. The application will now terminate". Is Sims 2 incompatible with Parallels Desktop? Can someone answer me please? Is there any way i can solve this problem and enjoy Sims 2 again without having to purchase its Mac version? ): Help appreciated thanks!

Only recent versions of the Mac VM platforms - Parallels and Fusion - have sufficient 3D support to allow for 3D gameplay, and even then some games won't work. As unattractive an option as it is, it's probably a better choice to configure a Boot Camp partition, which you can use to boot directly into Windows. You can use that partition with Parallels and only boot into Windows when you want to use an app or game not supported in the Parallels VM.
