We need you! icemansab has made a huge thread to get BioWare's attention and ask them to make a Mac client for Star Wars: The Old Republic, an upcoming MMORPG based on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) I & II.

Head on over to this thread, register on the SWTOR forums, respond and take the poll and make the developers hear us!

It's very important that we show developers there is a demand for a Mac version of this game, so please help out if you have a few minutes to spare!

A MESSAGE TO MODERATORS

Mac-Forums.com just took down a similar thread of mine with the accusation that I was spamming/advertising. Please take a moment to consider what my post is really about before passing a judgement on it. I'm not trying to make anyone any money, or scam anyone. I'm providing a link to another forum where Mac users are trying to get a game developer's attention. I beg you not to take this down.

As cool as a native Mac client would be, I'm betting it's far too late in the development cycle to start one. You can't just *poof* make a Mac game.

On the flip side there is no release date for this yet. So if they're planning for a 2010 release that could be plenty of time to create a mac client.

I agree that the chances are slim, but I'd like to see it to avoid boot camp.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

If it has the Lucasarts logo on it, it's not going to be on the Mac. Ever.

Bioware is Microsoft's b*tch now, just like most game companies. It would have to be a 3rd party developer like Aspyr.

The best way to get the app written is to use some in-house cross-platform code, or write the thing natively in Cocoa at the start. If it hasn't happened by now, I'll bet dollars to donuts it's not going to. The game is probably written in MFC and porting that bitch to Cocoa won't be easy.

You can: Cider. Anything better than that is likely aiming too high, though.
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx

That, and it'll be written entirely to use DirectX.

You totally picked the wrong platform if you're concerned about getting the coolest games.

Only reason why KOTOR and Battlefront came out on Mac was because Microsoft had not acquired Bioware until 2004-05. KOTOR and Battlefront came out way before that time, thus being allowed to make games for the Mac.

I'm pretty sure it was Electronic Arts that acquired Bioware - though they are no less evil than Microsoft
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.
