Suggestions? I know that RE5 is out but I dont think that having Sherra (sp?) as a partner ALL the time makes for the same enjoyment I had playing RE4 on my GC. So any FPS suggestions that has weapons upgrades possibilities and a decent storyline like RE4? ?

Try Ratchet & Clank perhaps, slightly different game style, but generally an entertaining story with a great assortment of weapons, all of which are upgradable. You can even purchase the PS2 versions for like $10 ea, they're all really good.

Sheva or not, RE5 is closer to RE4 than any other game is going to be.

I don't know anything about the RE series, but Resistance is a PS3-exclusive FPS series that has a decent storyline (though better in the first game than the sequel IMHO) and a huge variety of weapons that become available gradually. The first game, Resistance: Fall of Man was a launch title and is now a "Greatest Hit", so it retails for only $30.

The game you are looking for is Dead Space.

It's an often overlooked gem that borrows heavily from RE4 (in a good way).

It's pretty much RE4 on a space station.
