I'll drop this poll in early on the week. My question: Have you owned more than one of the consoles this generation or last? (If you owned all three just pick dual).

The only exception I'll make is don't check yes if you bought one of the last gen systems after this generation came out (late 2005).

Here we go, and I probably will screw up this poll.

I owned a Colecovision and a Nintendo at one point, but I only had the Nintendo for a couple days before it was returned to the store.

It was no secret. I mentioned it many times in the PS3, Wii & 360 thread. Remember I was a Nintendo whore up until this generation. I've only purchased 3 non-Nintendo systems prior to the 360 (ColecoVision, PS2 & Dreamcast).

I only had the NES in its generation (like, how many people did have a Master System?), but multiple systems every gen afterward.

Last Gen: PS2, Xbox, Dreamcast, GCN.

This Gen: Xbox 360, PS3.

I dont buy all the consoles as they come out, I wait for a game worth buying a console for. For the PS3 it was MGS4. Xbox 360 it was dead rising and various others.

Last game I bought for the Wii was Punch-Out. Man, the Wii hasn't had a hit in a while.

Yes, Dreamcast was awesome. House of the Dead 2 FTW!

Have a 360, PS3 and Wii for this gen (along with a DS and PSP).

Had PS2, GC and a Xbox (with a GBA) for the last gen.

Okay, voted:

This gen: owned a Wii, hated the game selection I encountered, but realized from the few good ones that I like video games. Sold it and bought a PS3.

Last (and only) console I had before the Wii was a Sega Genesis back in the early 90s.

Aww, I forgot all about the Dreamcast. I had one of those, a GameCube, and a PS2 last gen, and I've got a Wii and a 360 now (though I haven't even unpacked the Wii since I moved in June).

I actually never burned any games for my DreamCast before it kicked the bucket. Probably because I didn't own a CD burner at the time.

This is the first time ever, that i am actually contemplating a second console(PS3). I own a Wii, and its not the console itself, but rather the abysmal third party efforts on the system, which have production values closer to PS2 games.

It's not just 3rd party. Nintendo is guilty of this too. What was the last decent game they released for the Wii?

Yeah, my post did look that way, looking back. LOL My last Nintendo system was the SNES. GREAT system, once their target market moved to 5 years old and girls they lost me. ALL the games I liked were/are ignored by them, so I had to move on. N64, I was disappointed they stayed cartridge based, the 3D was great at the time but due to the cart size they were limited to little or no texture mapping. I was tempted to get a Gamecube when I saw Rebel Alliance in the past but I never saw nothing more than just that I would buy so I'm glad I didn't go that route. Don't get me started on the Wii... LOL

Hardcore... man I had an Atari Jaguar, 3DO and even an Atari Lynx, too.

$200 per game for the Neo-Geo was a no-no on a paper route budget. LOL Although I did know someone that did have one, so I used his. ;-) I did have a SegaCD with Night Trap. Glad I didn't pay for that thing.

I'm late to the party, and I call bullcrap on the second post of the thread.

I've owned two Wiis, three 360s, and one PS3. I'm a multi-multi console owner this generation.

Oh, and last generation, I owned a Dreamcast from day one, a PS2 from day one, and an XBox about a year or so into its life. I didn't pick up a Gamecube until much later. And yes, I owned multiple PS2s.

Actually, the more I try to remember about the last two gaming generations, the more I realize that my recollection of all the gaming systems I've owned is getting kind of...fuzzy. I think I owned three PS2s...

Dear God...I have a serious problem. This thread was conceptualized as an elaborate plan to make me feel idiotic, wasn't it?

Cattey...... bitchey...whatever.

The question is past tense, and the options do not have 'future intent'...so i could not answer truthfully.

As far as the Wii, i was perfectly happy with the console till about the first quarter of 2008. I have nothing against the console or it's ability, just the crap that third parties keep putting on it.

Why the PS3 now ? I finally have a list of 5 or more games i would like to play on the system.

Cheers

It's about capturing a snapshot of the present. Just because things will be different in the future doesn't invalidate the poll.
