I deleted all the other DLC for Borderlands to make room for my New Vegas install.
So, no, I will not be picking this up.

Picked this up b4 Xmas knowing that I wouldn't have internet for a few days (still don't have it in fact). Great game, very Fallout-like but the FPS parts are so much more enjoyable. Finally got a decent sniper. Only a level 15 but not doing too badly.
I tried a new game playing as Brick. Pile of shit. He looses too much heath in hand to hand combat (which he's supposed to be good at). The Hunter pwns though, except I do find it harder in confined spaces. Got the GOTY edition for 40€. ($52)

The Crosbies and I played for a little bit last night. Wow. The difficulty for the higher levels has increased dramatically. I think a 'NN meet up is in order.

Reckon that I should try and get back into this. I'm just a simple level 21 Hunter atm though.

I never bothered picking up the DLC. I had 0 MS points and didn't think this would be getting played any time soon.

Let's have a roundup tonight. Bogues, Dakar and Stogie; I can get on at 8 pacific time. If you guys need to get together sooner, it's cool. I can just join your game since I've already beaten it. What do you say? Are we a go?

OK, I'm really really hooked on this now. Got my arse kicked (several times) in the Circle of Slaughter Final Round. Since I had a bit of money I really got ripped off for the spawning cost.
Then after doing solo stuff, I got joined by a level 68. While it was easier overall, the baddies really did get tougher. Fights lasted alot longer.
I'm still not yet finding the 500+ damage sniper rifles though.

I've been playing the single player campaign. I don't think the RPG elements add much to the game. I mean, the leveling is fine, and buying weapons and heals is fine, but managing your weapons is a complete nuisance.
Also, after playing the soldier from the start, I've learned that sniper rifle + grenades is pretty much the way to go. I'd now switch to Sniper, but I really don't want to replay the first 10 levels all over again. I just don't see much merit to the class system so far.

Funny, I actually enjoy the weapon management part of it. Which guns should be in slots, which should I keep, do I swap higher damage but slower to reload for a spamming sniper etc etc. Then there's the fire/acid/electric stuff to consider.
There's no RPG in the sense that you are bad or good, like Fallout or Fable games (the only RPG games I've played), but you couldn't classify it solely as an FPS.

Good luck with a sniper in the arenas, or in tight spaces, or when spider ants are rolling into you.
I started a second character with Brick but thats proved to be disappointing. I'm going to try Roland (the soldier) after levelling up Mordecai a bit more.

Not that anyone here is still playing this, but I thought that I'd try and get a second character levelled up a bit and started with Roland. Fook me is it hard. I was wading in like I had a decent shield against so-so opponents and was getting bested every time. Nine-Toes and his skags set me on my arse a few times. Now I'm struggling with Bone-Head. I went back to Mordecai just to make sure that I could still kill something.

I just finished the "Mine Gate Key" mission in Arid Hills last night. It was pretty frustrating. Now I'm supposed to go after Sledge, and the "angel" was warning me that it will be difficult. If it's as frustrating as finishing that last quest, I might abandon this game for a while.

It's been too long since I played this, but I seem to recall Roland either the hardest to start out with.
Also, the first 10 - 15 levels are kinda brutal. It all opens up once you meet Skeeter or whatever his name is.

I'm at 34 now with Mordecai and have a pretty good arsenal. I think that you could say that I'm not afraid of anything now which I thought wouldn't come until I was a higher level. Of course now that I've said that, I'll get my arse kicked. Just did Baron Flynt and his crew and luckily came through one of those Second Wind moments due to a sneaky midget being, well sneaky. And behind me. And me not looking down enough.
I've got a corrosive rocket launcher and a corrosive sniper as well as the Eridian Cannon and a 264 damage revolver with 6 shots should anything get too close.
Now I've got to watch the Taffs get stuffed by the England rugby team. Have a good night.

I don't get what is meant by Playthrough 2.5 :
An ephemeral third playthrough-like setting will be unlocked when The Vault is entered in Playthrough 2. At this point the Playthrough 2 enemy levels will increase to 48 at the start, to 52 for some high end selected opponents at the end of the game. Items will likewise be encountered at maximum levels, with the vast majority being level 48. No new missions are available at this point, although missions gained previously in Playthrough 2 may yield far greater rewards and drops.
Because this higher powered version of Playthrough 2 becomes unlocked upon entry to the Vault, the fight against the final end boss can be aborted in favour of a return to the main body of the second playthrough. This can be done in order to find the better items without actually finishing the playthrough, or alternatively as a means of tweaking a character to a higher level of effectiveness before the final fight.
Does this mean that (since I've just started playthrough 2) I can go straight to the Vault, not kill the Destroyer, go back to Fyrestone and now the missions with have better loot? I'm confused.

Playthrough 2.5 was what happened after a second playthrough. Last I read there was an adjustment for the level cap on the last update, so it's probably different now.

I'm confused about what other missions you can do after playing it through a 2nd time, apart from the DLC.
Anyway someone said that I should do some of the DLC before doing the 2nd playthrough. They could have told me this before I got my arse kicked several times and losing so much money. There are alot more Skags and they're bloody tough when you're only a piss-on level 36.
I'm going to try the zombie thing before doing playthrough 2.

You should do Ned before tackling 2. Knoxx will be impossible.
There are no missions after P2 is finished.

OK cheers for that. I've heard that you need at least a 50 and a mate before going into the Armory. What about Claptrap's Stuff, is it tough?

Claptrap's not too difficult. Not nearly as tough as Ft. Knoxx. Anyways, you should definitely tag with someone.
I'm still waiting to see if you slackers are up for ClapTrap. Well...?

Yeah, finally got my hands on a good shot gun. Automatic weapons still feel useless, though.
There are zombies in this game too? Are there any games without zombies these days? I guess I should thank my lucky stars there aren't vampire games clogging the shelves too.

The zombies stuff isn't that bad. You've got the spitters and the psychos and the midgets that make it a bit more interesting than 'standard' plodding zombies.
I'm up to level 40 now and this game is still pretty good. Maybe the poor network connection that I have when playing Black Ops has an influence though.

Finished the zombies. I have a feeling that doing it as the first playthrough really does change the 'killability' of the zombies.
Level 41 now and I'm going to do the 2nd playthrough before Claptrap's Revolution.
Found a hidden mission : Green Thumb. Its crap but I think that I can safely say that I've finished all the playthrough 1 missions.
