Dolphin is a Nintendo Gamecube and Wii emulator. For some reason I have this thing for the Zelda games, so I've recently played and finished Wind Waker and the Wii version of Twilight Princess. Most Gamecube and Wii games run just fine, multiple Wiimotes are supported. The emulation is not always completely perfect, but it provides some features not available in the actual consoles such as the ability to set the resolution higher, save states, etc.

Recent versions of Dolphin post 2.0 (the Subversion builds) support OpenCL if you have a supported card, otherwise Dolphin is purely CPU dependent. A fast PC is indeed needed, but by now most new PCs should run most games just fine, I would think. I'm doing okay with an older AMD processor.

I had no problem getting my Wiimote and Nunchuk to work, as well as the Gamecube controller. Dolphin runs in Windows, Linux, and OS X, although the Direct3D plugin only works in Windows. A lot of games will play fine in OpenGL though.

Sweet.

Personally I'd like to replay Metroid Prime.

Looks like the trilogy is playable... A lot of the crashes reported on the Wiki in general have been fixed in subsequent Subversion builds, these pages aren't necessarily updated constantly.

Here is a video of Prime 3 playing at 1080p HD in the emulator:

Here's a better video which shows actual gameplay rather than just non-interactive cutscenes

It's true, folks! Here's a picture of a younger besson3c, from back when he still had hair. Check out the Zelda bling:

Heheh... that's awesome!

I'd like a necklace like that, I'd wear it all the time!
