I started with MW2. Had played HALO and other mp games.

As you mentioned CoD MP is a lot more complex with all the perks, equipment, death streak, etc, etc. Once you get to learn what everything does, and once you make to a higher rank to unlock things you can customize to what you want to do.

Have fun!!

It's probably good for you to take a break from MW3. You've been zooming through prestiges. Hopefully some better maps will come along in the new DLC (yeah I know, thats seems unlikely) and bring you back.

Did you get a full page of MW3 Titles or Emblems?

Strange thing I find is you just don't have time enough to finish things, sometimes, before you get to level 80. I think I'm going to be sitting at level 80 again this round, to finish off Hardline Pro, Overkill Pro, Blind Eye Pro, and the P90. I'm just so close, I hate to restart over.

The $64,000 question (or however many MS points) is whether to get the maps or not.

No, I didn't fork out for Elite.

I hopped on last night for several matches with my brother-in-law. It's been several weeks since I've been on, and I can certainly say that I'm not having nearly as much fun as I used to, but even with Black Ops I was burnt out after maybe 3-4 months.

All of my limited gaming time has been spent on trying to finish Uncharted 3, meandering in Skyrim, and starting up Resistance 3.

OK, I spent Sunday playing MW3. Double XP meant that I've gone from ~63 to nearly 72.

And I've enjoyed myself. Barebones with the MSR or the M14 and the 44 mag, not having to worry about aircraft, some good scores, some bad. A great session.

I can't toss any stones for being an opinion shapeshifter. I'd be hopping on both games if I had more free time lately, but I guess that will have to wait until the games are already ancient history.

Okay, you can actually snipe in this game. I've started using the Barrett and having some good games with it. As well as the scope it comes with, attaching an ACOG scope to it makes for a nice mid-range weapon (works as good as it did in MW2). So far i've only been sniping on Fallen, Outpost, and Mission. Love the sound of the sniper rifle, with and without a silencer. Using an ACOG and silencer on Outpost is hilarious - I've had enemies walk right past me when I am shooting.

I'm still a mediocre sniper.

Funny, I loved the Barrett in MW2 but I find it too slow in MW3. They are probably right in using a mobility factor for the different sniper rifles though.

Can't stress how good the MSR is. Reload time is fast. Faster than the L118. Plus it sounds good.

I'll give it a try next prestige.

They really nerfed the other shotguns. I've been trying to use the AA-12 and it almost feels like I'm using a BB gun (compared to the Striker) sometimes. The thing has no distance and/or no damage. And they put the Range and Damage profiencies way at 23 or 26 for the shotguns, so you have to grind all that way with a useless gun.

Oh yeah, where is the 30 foot drop in this game??? For the Goodbye challenge in Basic Training. I tried the drop from the wooden bridge on Mission, but it either didn't work or I got shot in the process. If I'm gonna complete Ghillie in the Mist this prestige, I want to complete Basic Training.

You need to jump down the well in Seatown.

The MSR is by far the best sniper, takes a bit longer to ADS than the L118, but the reload speed and stopping power more than make up for that.

Wish we could get bigger maps, like outpost. Then snipers can find their place. AA12 's rage is just too short. When you can get a kill with AA12, you almost can finish the job with the knife as well.

Not that much, I have a couple other friends very new to the CoD franchise that have been playing it semi-regularly, but I'm pretty sure Cheezy is as burned out with it as we are (he reset his stats).

I'm still up to play, especially if the game mode is switched up from TDM, but I need to see some people on first.

When I play, it's almost always Kill Confirmed. It's a lot more action-packed and hectic than a typical TDM.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I have as little desire to play MW3 as you have to purchase BF3. Perhaps less.

Yeah, I'm hoping to find time to prestige again this weekend (I'm on 4th prestige, at rank 75), but I also wanted to play some Saint's Row DLC this weekend.

I also sorta want to finish the MSR sniper rifle before I prestige, though. I think I'm near level 15 on it and need level 22 to get all the attachments for the Master title.

I thought I saw Fatty on MW3 last night too, just before I signed off for the night.

Well, I've been enjoying the last few days of MW3. Playing with my clan, trying different game-types, fooling around with weapons.

L86 with grip and silencer is great. I've been uber-camping and got specialist several times. Don't like the other LMGs as much.

Domination : at the request of team-mates I equipped the trophy system and protected it with a claymore. Effective setup that gets you some points since opposing team players are always throwing grenades at flags.

Trying to get Blind Eye Pro and its taking me a while. Apparently once you have it you can hit supply choppers which give you 300XP a kill. Stinger is now secondary on every class setup.

MK14 is a great weapon. Even with a silencer its 2 shots to kill. I have yet to get the hybrid sight, I'd really like to see what the MK14 is like as a pseudo-sniper rifle using this sight.

PP90M1 is a beast with rapid fire and a silencer.

I tend to put grip and rapid fire on my LMGs. But in general, I don't care for the LMGs. I find they are worse in MW3 than in MW2. In MW2 they were more precise.

Good idea. I'll have to try that. (I have the claymore unlocked with a prestige token)

By the way, does a trophy take out a Predator missile? I swear I saw that happen, once and only once.

Yeah I have the Stinger usually on one of my classes, otherwise I usually carry akimbo machine pistols (FMG9 or Scorpion). (Stinger is another item I have unlocked with a prestige token)

I haven't tried the MK14 since it's a single-shot rifle, but it sounds similar to the Dragonov sniper rifle which requires two shots to kill.

I find any of the Sub-machine guns beasts with rapid fire. I usually use kick with them. I find the best to be the UMP and PP90M1. The only thing that beats an SMG with rapid fire is akimbo machine pistols.

Usually I use them or shotgun for the Lockdown and Underground maps. But shotguns are pretty useless until you get the Range or Damage proficiency on them (which requires level 22 or 23).

L86 is really calmed down with a silencer. Add a grip and its a laser gun.

Mobility is better, and I think ADS is faster.

Not accurate enough for me. Good in very close quarters, but I get the impression that I do better with a single weapon.

================

Got 10,000XP for 40 Stinger kills, now doing the Javelin. I'm at 74 on 4th Prestige and the badge is shite so I'll prestige just once more. Honest.

I'll give that a try. I thought I had tried it that way, but maybe I tried it with a silencer and no grip.

Yeah, that's true. Even with a shotgun or SMG I try to stick to the close quarter areas, and out of the open areas. If I'm going to run around the open areas or go for the medium to long shots, I'll use a rifle.

The new spec ops map Black Ice is cool. Played it a few times already. Got 2 of the cheevos for it, and I might go for the veteran cheevo for it! I'll have to try the other map, Negotiator. The ski-doo part of Black Ice is fun. Lol, fell off the cliff once or twice while manouvering the ski-doo.

Yeah, they're not on my favourites list, but Downturn can be fun with a silenced sniper rifle. I usually lie down somewhere along the long corridor on the one side of the map. Enemies always come through there. Just got to watch for which end they're coming from. Then again, sometimes it doesn't matter. I've had enemies pass by me, and I shoot them in the back.

I also completed the Black Ice spec ops map on veteran to get the 3 achievements for that map. I think I'll try the negotiator map out now. Doubt I'll go for the veteran achievement, though. It looks like it involves alot of breach and clear rooms.

I've put in more time than Dakar. I'm over 9 days. I've got more kills and unfortunately more deaths than Dakar (I can't beat Dakar's k/d ratio, I'm only at 1.03). I haven't beat Dakar in Prestiges, yet, either.

I don't hate the game. I hate most of the maps, and having played this for two years I needed something compelling to keep going. These maps weren't it. So I moved to something new.

Is there a game coming out in 2012 that can spark a MacNN family reunion? I don't see one.

Halo 4 - No
Black Ops 2 - No
Assassin's Creed 3 (Kinect Version) - LOLZ
Borderlands 2 - Maybe. But its only 4 player
