Hey there,

I was going to be purchasing this as a gift for my dad, but he has an older iMac with a ATI Radeon HD2400 vid card. The min specs on the game say 2600.

Does this mean the game will play slow, glitchy, or not at all? How conservative are specs usually?

From the reviews, I'd probably say to save your money. Get him Portal 2 instead which I know has a lot of options for reducing quality for older machines.

I agree. Get him Portal 2.

Besides the mac version of Duke Nukem won't be released until August.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

Thanks. If he still had an OS8.6 machine he'd still be playing his old Duke game.

He never played Portal 1, should I start him with that or is Portal 2 better?

They're both fantastic. You don't have to have played Portal to play Portal 2, though the story might make a bit more sense.

I have a gift copy of Portal 1 via Steam if you want it (or want to give it to him). Everyone I know already has it, and I got it for free when I bought Portal 2.

Duke Nukem Forever works fine with Onlive if he has a fast internet connection.

Cool. Just PM me what email address you want me to send the free game to. It'll have to be (I believe) one that belongs to a registered Steam account (or one that he can use to sign up for one, it's free, after all).
