hopefully this is a new topic...
I have a new G4-533-Nvidia w/ 256 ram. I'm having the same problem in both Unreal Tournament (vers. 436) & Quake 3 (both 1.17 & 1.27g). They both lock up pretty fast when i play in 32-bit color but they both run very well in 16-bit at the same or higher resolutions. Is anyone w/ a new G4-Nvidia having the same problem?

Both games are set to 170MB prefered memory, Open GL 1.2, virtual memory off. i've been running both games at 1280x1024.

could it be that millions of colors pushes too many numbers for the nvidia to handle? i don't think that would make a difference?? ...thanks

Your magic-superfast new G4 system should be able to handle it, but try taking the resolution down to 1024x768. Because they only crash in 32 bit color, it sounds like you have a VRAM problem.

My name's ...uh... it's a bummer man.

Thats a driver problem, I believe... I think its documented.
Or was that the Radeon? No I think it was the Radeon... Could the GeForce also have it?

The Radeon is better at 32-bit than any other card on the market. It's what it's built for.

Of course, overall speed is less than a GeForce2 GTS, but I do think it's a better card than a stripped-down GeForce2 MX.
