Fair enough, but so does Dragonlance. :|

I don't dislike him actually, but he's never explained the whole "love macs/hate macs/really hate macs, they suck/hate macs but post at mac forum/like macs again" thing to me....

Um, yeah. Great way to stay on topic. I tried the Rune demo, and I wasn't terribly impressed. Maybe that's because I had just finished FAKK2 and I'm kinda sick of the third-person view deal. I'll probably get the game later when it is cheaper.

I have a quick question about Rune. On my new G4 (533 Mhz, 384 Ram, Nvidia card), when I run the Demo, my only video option is software emulation (I have 250 Meg allocated, if that helps.) Is there a problem with the demo or my computer? I don't have any extensions disabled, so is there something wrong with my card. I'm new to mac gaming (never had the power before), so any help would be great. Thanks!

are you sure the nVidia card supports OpenGL or RAVE? It should, but do you have the latest OpenGL drivers installed? You should, considering it's a new comp but those are some things to check out.

I think Marathon is the best game. I tried the Rune demo and got stuck outside the castle on the other side of where you jump across the lava on some hanging cages. On the ledge on the other side, I can't find any way out. There are lots of dark areas that I can't see into and I've wandered around in them but don't think I went anywhere. I can't even get back onto one of the hanging cages.
The 4 o'clock train will be a bus.
It will depart at 20 minutes to 5.

I tried the rune demo and it looked really nice.

To "logrey76" I have exactly the same setup as you and I can get the demo to work. Did you update the firmware and drivers for the Nvidia card with the updater Apple released last week? I didn't try the demo until after updating the firmware.

Rune Question: I've got the demo, and, pathetically, I can't get past the second cage that moves up and down in the fire lake (in the second "room"). Does this sound familiar to anybody? I keep jumping into the lake by accident. Help anyone? Thanks.

Jump when the second cage is at the same level as the one you're on - if you wait too long (second cage is too low) you'll jump over the target.

Good luck.

I wouldn't call rune the best game I've played, put I do think it deserved more press. I'm still considering buying it.

Cash....is gone. Perhaps it is best left at that. But if you really want more info, then go search the MacNN Lounge for either 'Ca$h68' or 'gorefan68' and you'll uncover a wealth of info.

But now that he's gone, I don't think anyone needs to rehash old arguments.
