I am looking to buy a gamepad to use while playing games. I'm mainly into Quake III, UT, etc. Do you guys have any sugestions as to which would be the best. I'm looking for lots of programmable buttons, easy to use pad/joystick, and not too expensive.
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

I have the MacAlly iShock and am quite happy with it.

Yeah, I use the iShock too... It kicks ass and is recognized by the HID-manager of OS X. Now if only games would support it...like Tony Hawk for instance... come on...update already!

Anyways, the iShock is identical to the Dual-Shock Playstation 1/2 controller, only a bit larger to accomodate adult players. It's totally freaka-delishous. Going through Sonic 1 on my G4 with a playstation-like controller was childishly fun

*cough*

Did you say UT/Quake 3? Everyone knows playing 3D FPS with a game-pad / joystick is close to impossible. The sole reason that Timesplitters on my Playstation 2 has been left well alone to gather dust. Anyone want to buy it btw?

Just a little aside: Does anyone know which games are supported by ishock?

All games that support Input-sprockets in OS 9 and the HID manager in OS X.

Include all games in that too, as you can use the utility that comes with it to map the buttons to different keystrokes.

If you are talking about the vibrator of the iShock II, it's just a handful...

Give the game Retro (http://www.zsculpt.com/website/games/retro/retro.html) a try. It was programed to support the iShock2's force feedback already.
