Hi,
I am having a hard time getting Quake 3 Arena to update. I'd like to update it so I can play with my friends who have pcs. I have the 1.11 version that came on the cd now and I would like to go to 1.17. I had originally updated to 1.27 but it would only launch with the debug version and it was choppy. I got the 1.17 update and installed it. But when I tried to launch the game it said "Interface is version 4. Expected version 3." And it won't launch. I took the pak files out that the updater installed and it launched fine. It sounds to me like I need a new Quake 3 executable not just pak files, but all the 1.17 updater gives is paks. Has this happened to anybody else? How can I update?

my suggestion is that you reinstall quake3 and then update to 1.17,and then to 1.27. 1.11 to 1.27 does NOT work.
