Ok, I am probably going to get flammed for asking this...

How do you cheat in Oni?

Looking at the Wintel side of the game, it seems that you have to modify the persist.dat file in the Oni directory.

Ok, how do I modify this file on a mac? I have my Hex editor ready. What do I need to do?

See, you can beat it without cheats! I only have the demo but I did do my homework, I know a few codes but I don't want to use them. I am currently stuck near the end (I think) of chapter 4. (I know, I'm sad!) I can't get past the two red guys that come into the hanger after you unlock the control council. My current strategy is to fry them a few times each, throw them and then run like hell to the council. This didn't work when I found that the AI was smart enough to follow me through doors and up stairs. PLEASE HELP!

If you really want codes go to bungie.com and hunt them down. There are only a few of them and they involve altering the code but it's not that hard to do.

Anyone know how to defeat the big dude with the huge gun on Chapter 6? Every time I throw him off the roof he flies back up using his jetpack

It's easy. All that you have is wait a while in the booth were the console is (crouch so the guys don't see you). Wait till both reache the airplane, then one will climb the stairs and meet you. Kill him. Then descend the stairs and walk down the stairs. Go the farthest you can against the wall. The guard won't see you until you get farther. Now you have two choices, you either dash the guards shots (move left and right since he's slow to shoot) or just keep running. Once you activate the console on the other side just use the same technique and enter the garage door! Voila!!!

Well, I'm happy with the game Oni. It was very addictive. Considering that I grew up in the early Nintendo age, and how much computer games have changed, I can't help wonder what computer games will look like ten or fifteen years from now.

Yes get your new cyber shoot em up game today. Requires Mac OS XV, 5Ghz Bioprocessor, 5gig mem & hard drive space or better. Voodoo Super 25 Graphics subprocessor or better required.

At that point, I think keyboards, mice, joysticks will be replaced with gloves, VR goggles, 22" plasma flat screens that cost $399.99 or less.

Another fifteen years or so pass, will we know the difference between fiction and reality?

BTW: Airport, after you get into the inside the hanger with the two red strikers, stay by the window so one of the strikers sees you. He will then run upstairs to get you. Jump on him, and kill him. Get his gun. Blast the window toward the plane where the other striker hides and then the lone gunman trick does the thing.

Hit when they're up, hit em when they're down, hit em when they're up, hit em all around. Later folks, this was a wonderful diversion from reality.
