I got RA2 for Windows since there is no mac version and it runs fine in windows 98 armed with 512 megs of RAM (the VPC Max) with a g4 800. It runs great but I can't get the mouse to scroll when I place it in the bottom and right sides of the screen (that's where the game's UI is). I assume there's some minor setting I could hopefully fix. I can't find anything that lets you keyboard scroll any faster, because the arrow buttons only go at about 2 pixels every tap, which is unacceptable. Right now I can only scroll up and left, which doesn't really work in the long term if you know what I mean.
Thanks if anyone can help me on this or lead me to a place where I could find the answer!

All I can suggest is that if you are using a non-Apple mouse, go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest Winodws drivers for it, and then install them in VirtualPC. Hopefully that'll do it. If not, maybe reinstall RA2 and/or VPC...scrolling is just based on cursor position in that game if I recall correctly, so you should be able to scroll around just fine....

Great! I´ve been waiting for someone to post performance of games under VPC. I guess than when you say a G4 800, you are referring to a dual 800, not a overclocked 733 (lucky you ). So two questions: 1) Which are the requirements of Ra2 for windows? 2) Regarding speed, how well does the dual 800 stacks against a PIII600 or something ?
I´m thinkin of buying a 867 by next week and I really need to know.
Thanks in advance.

The P600 would absolutely rape the 867 in anything it does. Read here for more info.

The game requires a PII 266, 2 megs of Video RAM, 16 bit color, 4x cdrom, 3d acceleration optional etc.
I would doubt that it performs as well as on a PC, bought this as a gamble, I figured it would probably work since someone else said it would. It worked except for this mouse bit. I am using the default mouse (apple pro optical). I'll go try the control hold thing. I dunno, I'll fool around.
Yes I mean the dual 800, I don't bother to add the dual, its superfluous in most cases.
Make note that this game is not a 3d game, and shouldn't have any problems for the most part. There is some skipping in full screen video, but my friend says that happens on the PC version as well, a bug or something.
If anyone can shed any more light on the mouse problems, fire away!

Try selecting "Win98 Settings" from the Edit menu, then go to "mouse" and finally *deselect* the "PC cursor tracks Mac's mouse" option.
I had some weird mouse problems with Fallout 2 that sound similar to what you're experiencing, until I did that.
