instead, try opening alot of quicktime movie files and play them at once, look out for any lag while they're playing.
the best i could do on my G3 400 mhz was 4 .mov files playing at once. one of them did lag.

now try the same with VM off. or by increasing the amount of memory assigned to quicktime.
should yield interesting results.

My regular usage is around 15 diff apps open at any one time on my G4/400/128 with 250 VM.
Usually Netscape Communicator, IE5, AppleWorks, SimpleText, Napster, ICQ, Hotline, Hotline Server, Carracho, Audion, AIM, Darkside, PhotoShop, PictureViewer, and Finder.
Thats my normal amount... not too shabby
Oh, and I'm usually burning something in the background, so Toast too.

PUH SHAW! I put all of you to shame!

My record for the Mac OS is 10! Nothing to great I know.

But I once in Mac OS X launched every application I could find. I of course didn't launch any classic apps, that's just nutty. However, I had several dozen applications open at once. It got sooooo sloooooow, but it kept chugging along and never gave out on me.

Ok, sorry, I never back down from a challenge.

OS 9.1, full bloated extensions set. Finder uses 52 megs. Opened every app on this HD. Including PhotoShop and the like.
Heres the pic:

Dammit I'll put up the pic when I remember how to link to images in my iDisk.

If you open every window at once it will really stress out your system! Then open a bunch of apps!

By the way, I don't want people to crash their computers for me, I just thought that it's funny to learn just what we are doing with our Macs!

I'm just gonna pop this one over to the Lounge, as I can't see it having too much to do with games.
