Did Omni ever put out a Q2 patch for Mac OS X? I went to their site but they only have something for Mac OS X Server. Can I use that for, say, OS X PB? Thanks in advance.

In DP3 and below, OS X Server apps ran in OS X...
But all that ended in DP4 (and thus PB as well as other, later builds).

I think I read in an interview somewhere that Omnigroup might finish up their work on Q2 for OS X. They did the original port to OS X back in the day, but OS X has changed enough so that the current build is broken. I think the sound is the part the needs the most work. Too bad Omnigroup couldn't port over the Glide drivers to OS X (they ported Voodoo2 drivers to the original OS X Server)... I would love to play Diablo II OS X in Glide.

I'd download that sucker, too! I also love to play q2, single and multi. Single player is kick-ass, while Net play has some of the best netcode around, MUCH better than q3. Yup, I'd say the demand for OSX Quake 2 is certainly there!

we might get q2 for X after all. i asked the omnigroup if they were working
on porting it and here's the reply i got from brian at omni:

Edwin-

We are going to look at porting Q2 as soon as we have some spare time (could be a while if we keep getting new games to work on).

>> Hi,
>>
>> Is the Omni Group working on a version of quake 2 for Apple's
>> Mac OS X? If not, do you expect to work on one in the future?
>> Thanks in advance. Take care.

That would be cool, count me in for downloading Q2, I miss single player in Q3...

Another thing I like about Omnigroup they are not too high and mighty so if you email them you will get a reply.
