My dad is totally getting into Diablo 2, but it's crashing pretty frequently on him. Every 20 mins or so.

He's running an older Mac of mine thats barely within the limits of the game. POwerMac 8500 (G3 Upgrade), standard graphics (software rendering), lot of memory, lot of drive space.

The system has been leaned out in terms of extensions, and we're running the latest drivers (OpenGl, Video, etc., etc).

Would a new PCI based graphics card help out. It looks like the machine can just barely keep up and then simply dies/hangs.

Thanks!

What are your system specs? What OS are you running?

It sounds like you have done everything you could. You are probably running well below the hardware limits of the game, since the game makers often exaggerate. Basically, if it runs, they consider it the minimum hardware requirement.

Maybe pick up the new iMacs that will be released Feb22nd? They'll have a GeForce 2mx in them.

Make sure he's running the most recent version... that'd be 1.05B.

The patch can be gotten from www.blizzard.com .
