Al my Q3 engined games (Alice, ST Elite Force etc) freeze after a couple of minutes play with whatever sound was playing at the time in a continous loop.
I've never had this problem before, these games used to work fine, until recently when my HD started to rapidly become full (lots of Uni work on the go) at one point Ionly had 45MB left and was desperatley worried my HD would crach and wipe all my work, but it survivde and after and extremley bruatl bit of house keeping on my HD I've free'ed up bout 1 and a half gigs, so this should not be the problem, I'm also running a minimum extension set, the only thing I can think of that I've changed recently is the memory allocation for these games which I've upped to 450000 could this be the prob?

try this. while in your game open up the console if you can and enter this in: \com_hunkmegs
if it says that that is set to 56 or a low number (50-70) then type this:
\com_hunkmegs ??? where the "???" would be the amount of memory you want devoted to the game engine. After it has been changed you should quit and reopen the game. I know this works for quake but i havn't tried it with elite force or alice so dont hold me resoponsible if it doesnt work, but it should. If any problem arises just use the same method to change it back
