The Mac version is done by Aspyr, who have a status page for all their products at their site: http://www.aspyr.com

I think it sucks ass that even though it should be SHIPPING any day now, and the working demo @ MW kicked ass, that they still havne't posted what the min system requirments are yet.

So when's it shipping??? It's Feb. 14 already.

And in Canada, I'm most likely gonna have to wait another week or two, as it usually takes another week or two to appear here.

When a company finnishes porting a game and goes through the final candidate phase, they normaly have to get aproval from the original developer befor they can ship the game (like the black and white delay). So even if Westlake has finnished the code, and aspyr have got all the packaging etc ready, it still cant ship without final aproval from the original developer, so the delay isnt their fault if the original developer is being slow.

I can say anything specific to RtCW as it would break my NDA.

All we need now is ID to reject it for some problem = more delays.

Don't ever trust retailers ship dates. Trust me, they know nothing about it half the time.

Yeah, it's too bad that you'll have to turn down all those settings . Keep saving up for that upgrade. (Geforce2MX and your computer are garentueed to *choke* on wolfenstein. My bro has a G4 733 with a Gf2MX with twinview, and it runs Quake 3 at 53 fps at max res and detail. Sad .

I'd like to know what I can do about upgrading my current video card...I've got a stock Rage128/16MB, but I absolutely love the Radeon 8500 Mac Ed. Thing is, I've got a 17'' Apple CRT with an ADC connector. What can I do about it besides get a new monitor if I get the new Radeon? They have ADC->DVI connectors for the *flat panel* monitors that use digital signals, but shouldn't they also have ADC->VGA adapters for the CRT's with analog signals? If such a magical device existed, it'd leave the DVI conn. free for a second monitor, too (LCD at that). Any ideas? (...make my own adapter? :-P )

Does anybody know if Aspyr's port will be able to use mods that come out for the PC or play on-line with PC-using opponents?

Man I hope they get RTCW out soon... a few servers seem have to disappeared from the demo. It's getting hard to find a good server.

I also wore out my first mouse. My gun wasn't firing when I pressed the mouse button... looks like I may have wore out one of the mouse buttons. I had to change mice in the middle of a game.

Mods should work. Since all the past Quake 3 games have worked fine.

Yeah, the Homelan servers were my favourite set of demo servers too. Now I have to make do with finding a spot on one of the 7-9 demo servers left. Not much selection there.

Do 'get new list' and you should get more than 10 servers. Someone oughtta make a Macnn server. Everytime I try to make a server, my machine crashes.

MacNN doesn't have the bandwidth for that.

However, I'll be willing to host a RtCW server when I get my T1 installed at www.ghetto.inc . There's currently nothing there, but it'll be interesting. Trust me. It'll be interesting.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I guess I missed that option on the screen. I usually just use the refresh and add to favourites.

Well the new ship date for RtCW is March 18th. One of my friends at an Apple Store looked on the shipment list and said that once again it got pushed back by Apsyr.

Once again affirming my belied that we don't see games on Mac until they're in the $9.99 bin for PCs over at Fry's Electronics (or your local PC store...)

March 18th?

Great - is that like 6 months late or what? I mean, for a single user game I'm comfortable waiting a while, but with the clan stuff etc. community action happening with the likes of RTCW, it's like missing most of the party

On the other hand, I'm getting kinda good on the Beach map.

Guess I'll just have to get the PC version now and play it until the Mac version comes out. Deja Vu.
