Check this out, Mac gamer dudes.

Hey there, fellow Mac gamers. Has anyone else out there looked into this game? As far as I know, it's coming to the PC and Macintosh, and it's just like EverQuest (with some minor differences). From what I've read and seen, I'm pretty excited about this game.

So, what do all of you think about this game? Offer any thoughts and stuff here! Also, if anyone knows (since I couldn't find out), will the game run on OS X? I imagine so, but I want to be sure. Happy gaming!

I'm REALLY looking forward to it... a ireal MMORPG for Mac, not pseudo-retarded Lineage crap. From what I've heard, the release is supposed be simultaneous (Mac/PC), and before summer. Wolfpack seems to have a number of Mac fans on their staff, which I suspect is why they are showing such good support.

As for the game itself, it's a whole new thing. The interface is done Diablo II-style (those of you who mindlessly flamed it for being a clickfest -- a.k.a. the simplest, most easy-to-use interface available -- have found new bait), as are combat and character development, but with many more available classes and skills. Plus, players can build towns, castles, forts, run stores, make equipment, and form massive guilds that are constantly in a guild war with someone else (or small guilds, though these won't be doing much!). And THEN there is the whole MMO aspect...

Plus, we can play it with all our PC-using wussy friends.

I'll admot the graphics are somewhat sub-par, but they're not terrible and they get the job done. And they'll run at nice, high framerates (one Wolfpack employee was quoted as saying the Mac version ran better than the Windows version).

I recently stopped playing Diablo II due to the fact that realms are now ruined by the countless unfixed hacks that totally wreck the game. This game seems like a great place to continue my online-RPG addiction...

THOUGH I HATE PAYING MONTHLY FEES FOR FRIGGIN' COMPUTER GAMES.

In conclusion, you should all buy Shadowbane, and maybe we can form a Massive and Absurdly Intimidating Mac Guild From The Pits Of Hell That Really Wants To KIll You. I'll see you there.

Wow, someone finally posted. I agree with the monthly fee thing, but it actually looks and sounds like it will be worth it. My friends and I already have a guild set, and are now recruiting, so I think we will be set. We are an old Myth 2 order, who all chose to move on to Shadowbane upon its release. Anyway, thanks for posting! Man, I'm really excited for this title! Now, someone else post! What do the rest of you think about this title?

Yeah, it's surprising that no one else seems to care.
Mac gamers seem to be over-obsessed with shooters, at least from my perspective. It seems to be all anyone ever talks about (look at the threads in this forum... half are about Q3 or RTCW). I mean, sure, shooters are great, but there is so much more to computer gaming...
What's really sad are those people that believe non-shooter games aren't masculine enough to warrant playing them.
These people should be locked up in solitary confinement with Baldur's Gate 2 for a week. Then they will see the light.
Anyway, Shadowbane looks like it will be great, and I hope it gets adequate support from the Mac community to earn Wolfpack's lasting support for Shadowbane updates as well as future releases.
Be happy.

This is sad. It's no wonder there are no decent Mac MMORPG's right now.
THERE MUST BE someone else out there THAT IS EXCITED over this game.
Be happy.

I won't say that I'm excited, but I'm optimistic. The game looks good and it looks much improved over EQ (tried it for a week and was really unimpressed). But after getting my hopes up with the announced release date of Baldur's Gate (the original by GraphSim) and then watch it slip and slip and slip, I'm a bit more cautious about getting excited by a ship date.

But yes, it looks like it'll be pretty cool...

And I find it funny, MacFreak, that you deride the FPS, yet your goal with a Mac guild would be to go out and kill people of other guilds. Although a sword is a much more personal weapon....

No, no, no no no...

There is nothing wrong with shooters. I was simply stating that Mac gamers seem to be over-obsessed with them, too often ignoring games from other genres. Read the post man

Plus, the primary reason I'd play Shadowbane is NOT PvP, though it would be a factor. I once took an online RPG personality test, and I was determined to be primarily an "achiever" -- meaning I strive to have the most powerful character, best stuff, etc. My secondary attribute was "explorer."

"Fighter" was last or second-to-last.
Be happy.
