I just upgraded to 10.1.3 and it killed quake 3. Now Quake just hangs at the startup movie. I tried deleting the prefs but that did not help. Any Ideas???

Well, first run it went to a monitor res that I couldn't handle. Just now it worked but the mouse felt sluggish.
edit: my bad! Sound works, forgot I had to turn my volume all the way down! :o

I read about those problems with RtCW and Quake 3, so I launched my copy of Q3, and yeah the mouse speed was really slow. So I just went to controls configuration and bumped up the mouse speed. Now its fine.
One thing I noticed is that using the mouse in the menus is slow, but in the game, the speed is normal. Dunno what Apple did in 10.1.3 to make that happen, but it does work fine during the game. (for me at least)

oye!
open your console.... get some hints there. the only option might be to reinstall q3, or wait for a patch from ID (or whoever)
anyway, what Mac do you have?

My menus work fine, but when I start the game the system labors to place the 3D images on screen. I get the same behavior in Wolfenstein Demo.
867 Mhz G4, 1.2 GB RAM. GeForce3.
I have a support call in to Apple. It got bumped to an engineer.
2D graphics are fine. This looks like an OpenGL issue.
For what it's workth, I also experienced the "freeze" others have reported when upgrading to 10.1.3.
