So I decided, after not playing for quite a while, to get back into it, and made myself a Sorceror, which is a very fun class.
Anyway, I also decided I was going to do EVERY side quest, since that's where the fun of the game is. Here's my problem:
You all know about the quest in Chapter 2 where you go inside the planar sphere with Valygar and kill Lavok? Well, after Lavok killed me twice, I thought I'd try a cheap tactic -- shooting fireballs at him from outside his vision... mistake #1. So, I shot all of my sorceror's fireballs (5 or 6) at the area around him, then went into his vision to finish him off... only to find him twitching on the ground with his status saying "near death." So I sent my entire party to wreak havok on him, and after like 2 minutes, I decided there was something I was supposed to do, as he wasn't dying. I tried talking to him, searched the surrounding rooms, etc., but nothing did anything (I quick-saved when collecting items from the surrounding rooms... mistake #2). So I decided I needed some item from outside his room, which provoked the game to autosave... mistake #3 (now I had no saves from before I attacked him). I could find nothing, so I gave up and went online to check on what I was supposed to do, and it said "...right before he dies, he'll apologize for all he's done and ask you to take him outside one last time. Pick up his body and... ." Unfortunately, I never got his speech and he is still considered hostile in my saves, so I CANNOT PICK UP HIS BODY. And I can't leave the goddamn sphere (it's in some sort of alternate dimension).
If anyone knows anything I can do... please let me know. I don't want to start over! I've done pretty much all the other ch. 2 quests and was going to pay Gaelen Bayle soon and move on to ch. 3.
