The way I see it, Blizzard has ported almost every single one of their games to the Mac. The exceptions being some of their earlier games which were mainly console games. The Mac versions of their games have typically sold very well. It would almost seem like a no brainer for WoW to come out for the Mac.

Personally, I wouldn't mind it if they skipped WoW for the mac and got cracking on StarCraft 2 and got it for the mac first.

They announced that they were using DirectX for the 3D engine, that's why they wouldn't port it. Bad move for Blizzard, using evil 3D engine

I signed it, but does it really matter? This game is AT LEAST 120 years from release.

Be happy.

According to their FAQ ( http://www.blizzard.com/war3/faq/faq-features.shtml ) they're going to be supporting Direct3D and OpenGL. Admittedly, I haven't read much on the game since it was announced. Was their a formal announcement that they were going DirectX only?
Ooops, I clicked on the wrong link.... WIII instead of WoW..

Although I certainly mean no disrespect to whomever is organizing the petition, a big part of me says ENOUGH! Is this what the Mac gaming community has been reduced to: having to ask for every game, even from companies that are known for publishing Mac versions of their software? Does anyone remember the petition (yes, there actually was one) to bring Halo to the Mac? It just feeds a cycle of defeatism by giving publishers an out- "Well, the Mac community didn't speak up loudly enough for game XXX".
If we (collectively) are going to dig ourselves out of our second-class status, we have to start acting like first-class citizens. It's fine, IMHO, to lobby for lesser-known games or for sleeper hits from smaller companies, but the constant groveling before the big guns of gaming world.

Well... I'm giving this thread a major bump. It's been awhile since WoW has been announced, it surprisingly seems like Blizzard's getting closer to a release (Q1 2003 I would guess), and there's been no definitive statement as to Mac support. Does anyone have any news on this front? Maybe one of the kind Blizzard developers on board here can shed some light. . .

No news yet. . . Rob, any help here? A yes or no would be sufficient.
Btw, thanks so much for Warcraft III - it's great!

If it comes out, sweet. if not, well, boycott blizzard or something, sheesh.
