For comments pertaining to games.macnn.com's First Look at the Diablo II Expansion Set.
http://games.macnn.com/features/0011/diablo2exp.phtml

What do you think of the Diablo II Expansion Set? Is this just Blizzard milking their successful franchise or is Blizzard continuing to create awesome expansion packs for their games? What should be the official name of the game?

Diablo reminds me too much of Myth. Perspective, goals, releases, gameplay, esp. using the Necromancer in D2. Notice who Microsoft bought... they buy creators, since they've mastered imitation.

I think the expansion pack should be called "Not Chimera."

I really like D2 and I'm looking forward to the expansion. I belive that the reason for the expansion is a combination of them not being able to get it all ready in time and them milking it a bit. But they can milk away, I am waiting as patiently for this as I did in the line for it at Macworld NY.

And my vote for the name: "Diablo II: Electric Bogaloo"

I hear it's going to be called "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction."

In case anyone is wondering, the lord of destruction in the Diablo series is Baal, who just happens to be the guy you have to kill in the XPack, since he escaped in normal D2.

"Baal: Lord of Destruction"

actually i do believe that diablo 3 is going to be called something in the extend of Baal but that has only been rumors... as for the title Diablo: Lord of destruction i've heard that there are some difficulties regarding an other title's trademark, again that's what i've heared ((rumors)) one possible other title i've heared ((hey i like rumors)) is Diablo: Barbarian wastes as for the game... i'm still not sure... should i begin with the druid... the cyclones and twisters look cool or with the assasin, the traps and martial arts and telekenisis/stun ability are also intresting... ah what the heck i'll just play both at the same time and have no social life for a week or two... *AGAIN!!!* *smile*

There's not going to be a Diablo III; with Baal dead, there's nothing left to kill.

I disagree - the Prime Evils cannot die, and the Soulstones were only gateways to the world of Sanctuary that were useful at first but problematic once they learned to escape from them. Diablo and Mephisto were only banished back to Hell until further notice. However, there are also 4 Lesser Evils. Here is a little list for you:

Prime Evils:
Mephisto, Lord of Hatred (currently residing in Hell)
Baal, Lord of Destruction (currently growing extra limbs and assaulting Mount Arreat in the Barbarian Highlands)
Diablo, Lord of Terror (currently residing in Hell)

Lesser Evils:
Andariel, Maiden of Anguish (currently residing in Hell)
Duriel, Lord of Thingy and Chocolate Sprinkles (Hell)
Azmodan, Lord of Sin (not seen yet!!)
Belial, Lord of Lies (not seen yet!!)

The two so-far-unknown Lesser Evils were the ones who originally revolted against the Prime Evils and banished them to Sanctuary, where they had to be imprisoned in the Soulstones and then banished back to Hell; this process will be complete after the expansion set's Act V. However, it is possible that after the loss of power of Diablo, Mephisto and Baal that Azmodan and Belial (the only Lesser Evils who are named after Biblical devils, Asmodeus and Belial) will seize power once more. Besides, Blizzard will be desperate to continue the series, and these two (unless they appear and get banished to Hell in the expansion set) will most likely be the means of that sequel. And, if there are conflicts among those in Hell, each time one is defeated it provides the means for others to seize power and thereby for Blizzard to create a sequel - although I doubt that they would have the temerity to continue the series beyond Diablo III. If you're still reading this, congratulations. Please trash it beyond all belief if you disagree. Thanks.
