I've had discussions with several members of the Alice development team, including their Lead Programmer, and from a technical standpoint they're pretty much ready to do a Mac version if EA would be willing to publish it. However, EA isn't ready to publish any Mac games themselves but instead have been making money through Mac versions of their games by cutting deals with outside publishers -- namely Aspyr Media but also Feral Interactive.
Probably the best way to get a Mac version of Alice is not to petition EA (the company has said and proved with their actions that they only listen to sales at the cash register) but to buy Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force from Aspyr Media and send in requests to Aspyr to pursue a deal on Alice. Aspyr Media is a much smaller company and purely focused on the needs of Mac gamers -- they'd be much more likely to hear those requests and act on them, and they'd be encouraged further by seeing a Quake III-engine game (Elite Force) sell well this holiday season and into 2001.
