I've got the demo of Deus Ex going, and am testing out the training grounds cuz there's so many damn key commands I can't use my keypad. I'm up to the stealthy test, and damn if I can't get past the guards without them noticing me. It takes so damn frigging long to pick up anything it's about useless to throw things to distract them... grrr.
Impatient. Skill sucks.
blowing stuff up was cool tho.

Grab the helmet on top of a box/crate in one of the back corridors after you've been caught. Then head back up to the top to reset. When you get down to the floor to begin again, activate the helmet. Then you can just run through the hallways and complete it.

The trick for stealth in DE is to get into a crouch and stay that way. Walk SLOWLY. Don't move at all if the guard is directly facing you. It's actually pretty easy to master.. and master it you must. There are MANY, MANY places in the game that will stop you cold unless you can get the hang of being stealthy. This is one of the things that sets DE apart from the typical shooters.

well, either master THAT or master running like hell and dropping a guy with one shot during the actual game.

damn straight. I prefer my sniper rifle, with almost every weapon mod I've found dumped into it. It OWNS. Unfortunatly, I dont have any ammo for it, and havent found any for it in the past 10 hours I've played it. Dammit.

My tactic was to drop all my mods and upgrades onto my pistol, for which there was plenty of ammo. By the end of the game, it had an accuracy of 100%, damage plus 10, and could fell a soldier with one shot, the freaky machine-visor-longarmed guy with one shot, and the bionic man with two. It served me well, that pistol did...
