Dude chill. You may not want it but some people do. Brad Oliver stated he would do it for free! If you don't want to fine, not everyone wants it. Some people do though.

I've signed a petition last year, asking for the port of X-wing vs Tie-Fighter, and finally people at Lucas Art said that they will go for gaming console before Macintosh.

But now that the mac can run big games...
Well...let's say, it's a new hope

Someone get on Sony's case (or is it 989 Studios?) about an EverQuest port. I just recently started watching a friend play EQ, and it actually looks pretty fun. Alas, the gaming toils of a Mac user. Maybe ask Sanata for Christmas, eh?

I was #114 on Oct. 27th. I'm pretty sure this game will get ported. It uses the Q3 engine which already has had significant development on the Mac side. I just hope LucasArts let's it be done.

I signed too, and am impressed that so many have already signed up. Personally I'd rather see that the new Jedi Knight does get ported, and the chances look good. However, the more games that are on the Mac, the better!

jedi Knight was a great game, but its a few years old now and I wouldnt bother, personally.

A new star wars game would, however, be very welcome. Perhaps a jedi knight based on the quake 3 engine!

There are good fps games coming to the mac such as return to castle wolfenstein.

Now only if they could hurry that port...
MacBook Alu, 13", 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 256MB video
G5 Imac, 17", 1.9Ghz, 1.5GB RAM, 128MB video, built in isight, airport and bluetooth
Indigo iBook, 366mhz; 320MB RAM; CD; FW; Airport

A few clarifications. Porting Jedi Knight 1 wouldn't impact or delay any other game ports for the Mac - it would most likely be done in my spare time since I offered to do it for free.

Second, I agree that the engine is a few years old and doesn't look hot when compared to a Quake 3-based game. However, JK has a very engrossing single-player storyline and level design that is excellent. I would ask that if you sign the JK petition, you do so because the game interests you and you would actually buy it. My personal opinion is that if it were offered for $20 with the Mysteries of the Sith add-on, it would be a great deal even today.

I believe that DroidWorks uses the JediKnight Engine and it has definatley been ported to the Mac. One of the biggest reasons why I wondered why JK was never ported. I am doubtful, however, that LucasArts would allow a port, but I think it would be much appreciated.

Remember, LucasArts is all about money. Waving enough in their face may work wonders.

Ok Jedi Knight is an awesome game. and there's a strong possibility that JK2 is coming out for Mac(which would be cool)
but.. ok look, Dark Forces(or Jedi Knight 1)
was released for Mac. Now Jedi Knight 2 is possibly coming out.
What would be better that than to have JK1 released so it would fill
the gap in the story line.

I would buy two copies just to make it come out!

Oops, I thought the first petition I signed was for JK2. I guess I should pay more attention. I'll sign the JK2 one now too. I have JK1 for PC. It's fun, but I don't think it would be worthwhile to port this late.

It's JK2 that will have the Q3 engine, so it's chances of getting ported are fairly good. . .I hope.
