Hi.

Need to know if anyone has any experience with Blue G3 and the new Voodoo 4.
My set-up: 450 Blue G3 OS 9.04 (putting OSX on a new partitioned disk sometime next week)
ATI Rage 128.

I do a lot of graphic and DV video projects (not 3D) for a living
on the G3 and it works very well with the Rage 128.
However, I'm looking to upgrade games performance (Falcon 4, F/A 18 Gold, 4X4, etc)
without spending tons of money.
It looks like the Voodoo 4 is a hell of a bargain. Can anyone please tell me:

1. Do I need to use it as my one and only display card
and trash the ATI ? (have enough PCI slots available for both
ATI & V4)
2. If both cards can stay together, can I use now a 2nd monitor ?
3. Did anyone test drive V4 already ? is it any good ?

Any input will be highly appreciated

Both cards can stay. Macs work very well with multiple monitors, and you will be able to run dual monitors from the two cards. When you install OS X, you may need to not have a monitor plugged into the V4. That is just during the install process, once OS X is up and running you should be able to shut down, plug the Voodoo's monitor back in, and boot into OS X again.

Note that the V4/V5 do not currently support DVD playback, you will need the ATi card anyway if you want to play a DVD movie.

I do not have the V4, my 2nd monitor is running off an old ixMicro card that I got on the cheap.
