It should run in classic.

I know, i've been looking too. Looks like classic or just plain old 9 is your only choice for now.

Well, what did you expect. The game is what...two years old now?
It was released far before carbon and cocoa was in the minds of developers.

Just be glad classic is there so you can play it at all under X

Nah, i think it's the other way around. Apple should be glad that it plays under X, otherwise some SimCity fans wouldn't be using X at all.

hi, i would like to play SC3K on my new mac, but it turned out more difficult than i thought:
1. SC3K is awfully slow under classic - even on this dual 867MHz G4 768MB DDR mac. :O(
2. i can't boot up in os9 since i'm useing a HD RAID - so os9 sees no hard dirve. :O(
3. when i boot up useing a FW drive with os9 SC3K starts and runs fast, but crashes when i try to load or save a file. :O(

help !!!

what can i do ?

where there any updates for SC3K ?

I ran SC 3k in classic once. I was simply amazed at how slow it was. It is kinda like watching a static screen that schanges image ever couple of seconds or so.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

I just haven't had these SC3K speed problems...
Even way back when, on my iMac G3/350MHz, the only real "speed problem" was the load time for a large city.

On my currect round of Macs, that's still the only real problem.
Be happy.

SC3K is a VERY VERY VERY bad port. It has always run slow.

For the person who bumped this old thread, I'm sorry I have no clue how to fix that for you.
