Hi. I just was in the "sneaky peek" directy of omnigroup's ftp server. They have a disk image of their port of oni.

It's oni. I guess I would've been more excited 6 months ago when OS X came out and I was playing it more. Oh well.

The nice part is that there are more resolutions modes, like the widescreens for my powerbook. If there is an increase in frame rates, they are minimal.

Anyone know anything about ONI II?

Played Oni 4 five minutes - got very bored by it's so called 'revolutionary' gameplay. Haven't played it in like 8 months. I think a lot of people have been very underwhelmed by it. The reception was minimal, and the game wasn't up to scratch - hell, they still haven't made it multiplayer!

I hope Bungie don't screw up with Halo, as they have really been a bit shoddy. Why couldn't they have kept doing what they've done best, and done Myth 3 themselves, and let someone else do the Oni and Halo projects?

Just my little rant.
Hark, I hear a robin sig'ing in the trees!
Nae, there is no sog to be sug,
or am I wrog? Why can't I sig?

Sneaky Peek link.

Dogma, I know what you mean. Oni was good, but it could've been so much more. No editing tools, no networking, no real blood ( ), and limited options for each goal.

It was really hyped too, at least to me. Seeing the pr videos was jaw dropping. And the level design was pretty excellent, at least aesthetically.

Thanks for the link!!!

Oni did not contain enough levels, multiplayer action etc. Hopefully Halo and Oni 2 will correct this. As far as gameplay, it was excellent. I loved being able to kick, punch and hit someone instead of simply being an always behind the trigger deal.

Despite its many shortcomings, Oni was fun. It is the only game I've played recently where I've been able to enjoy playing single-player. (Still, I like playing multiplayer games better .)

Same here. Oh well, it's just a sneak peek.

Works just fine for me. It is certainly faster than playing it under Classic. (without InputSprockets, Carbon mode had serious game play limitations)

if you're having any problems with the Oni build, don't forget to email a description to
sneakypeek@omnigroup.com

if it won't load, tell them that, and there are two files called startup.txt and debug.txt(?I think). Attach the files to the email so that they can see the problem.

Cheers
