Graphic Quality on Links LS 2000

I just got Links LS 2000 last night and I'm disappointed with the graphics quality. I've turned on all the highest settings and I'm running it at 1280 x 1024.
anyone playing Links and found any tricks to improving the quality of the graphics? increasing memory, etc.

Haven't had any luck either. Pretty nice game, but I, like you, got the impression it could have been even prettier.
